I don't think there's any scenario where Shohei plays in NY. Logically makes sense to stay home and patch up unless he's ruled out for the series.

Partial dislocation of his left shoulder. I don't know what that means. I dislocated my shoulder playing adult league ball 15 years ago and it's never been the same. Dislocation would usually put someone out for a couple of months and would require surgery to get full strength and range of motion back. But I'm guessing his didn't fully pop out. But I'd definitely be shocked if he was playing game 3

Hitting is such a mechanically driven action, combine that with a banged up shoulder and cool temps, it’s going to be tough. I know he’ll have a jacket on when he’s not hitting or maybe keeping warm in the clubhouse but he’s going to have a challenge driving thru on his swing…if he plays.

What Ohtani suffered was a subluxation, which as you noted is a partial dislocation. I've unfortunately had many of these in my left shoulder following a bad shoulder injury several years ago. You can usually pop it back into place by yourself and it will be sore for a couple days. Unfortunately, as with any shoulder displacement, it will create instability in the short term and make a reoccurrence way more likely.
