I watched Gamecock baseball blow a 8-0 lead and lose to LSU today. This is after the blew a 4 run lead the other day. And after they went 0-6 the last 2 weekends of SEC play. 3rd base killed them today, so many errors on routine balls. I've given up on Kingston being the right coach, every season is the same since he got there.

One of the things we do in here is pick on each other if we can make something funny (the term is subjective) out of someone's typos. If he had seen it earlier, it would not have surprised me if Boo himself would have taken my comment and run with it.

That 100% sounds like a Boo move!

If people didn't pick on each other around here, it'd be wayyyyyy less fun!

I've had the college softball Super Regionals on. As some of you may remember, I really enjoy watching the college softball this time of year. Glen and I sure talked about it enough in here when JMU reached the National Championship series a couple of years back. A little while ago Alabama beat Tennessee in the longest game in Super Regionals history: 14 innings (these are 7 inning games for the uninitiated). Game 3 of the best of 3 is tomorrow.

Picking on each other is not the same as trolling. I don't do much of the latter but a whole bunch of the former. I've said it before over the years: I try to be mischievous without being malicious. I wish there was more of that.

Maryland is not a pro-gun or pro-defense state, so most likely, you'd be going to jail unless they have a gun and you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt your life was in danger.

Not really considering I've been telling my wife since we moved in that we need to get a table and chair set for the deck.

No biggie there. In the last couple of weeks I have seen stories where gators down here have gotten into pool enclosures and even a house.

Just one example: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/flor...ycsrp_catchall

New poll idea for hairy. Would you rather get bit by an alligator or shark?

Our Son mowed the front and side lawns this evening. He didn't too good a job and my wife kept fussing at him. The lines weren't good enough for her.

The thing is that there are some that can't distinguish the two.

Why would I worry about sharks? They don’t bother me. We float around together with the manatees. If anything, I’ll catch them and release them. Fun fight

As a person who encounters both sharks and alligators at least a few times a year, I can say with certainty that I worry more about jellyfish...and those little blue man-o-wars too. Those things are nasty.

In fairness, I don't see the big sharks. It's almost always a lemon shark that's smaller than me.

We catch lemon, black tip and bonnet head sharks at the beach most of the time. The only ones that suck are bull sharks but we’ve always been cool

Shark bites are more common on the east coast of Florida vs the gulf. Places like New Smyrna Beach, risk is way higher.

I've never been fishing but I imagine it would be weird to pull up a shark and then have to deal with getting it off the line. I see them mostly when I'm kayaking. The nurse sharks are cool but the blacktips like to follow and nip at my oar. They're annoying little jerks for sure, like the chihuahuas of the ocean.

The way this area of coast is formed, the ocean averages something like 7 feet deep for many miles. That keeps the bigger sharks far away. There are a few bull sharks around from time to time but I haven't ever personally seen one. Those are the only scary ones in my area.

A few weeks ago, Hubby and I drove up to Pompano Beach to see the barracudas from the pier there. Hundreds of little ones hang around it like it's their nursery, I guess feeding on the fish that collect there. Two- and three-footers were agitating the people trying to fish, and it was funny to watch. Every minute or two somebody would yell "Get away from my fish you little bastard!"

All that is over until November though. I don't do heat well so it's all indoors for the next six months. It was a great winter though. Saw my first octopus, from the shore. It was in about eight inches of water and it wanted to play. It was the most awesome wildlife encounter I've ever experienced.
