So the idiot Govie in charge of us asked for an update on that purchase that I already gave him the information for the other contract to buy. Re-sent him the e-mail with the information which immediately got a nasty e-mail stating that we will purchase them as he directed. I sent him a reply stating that according to our contract office, we cannot order them as the work they will be used for is not in our Statement of Work. My boss followed that up with an e-mail stating I was correct and we wouldn't be purchasing them.

We had to go to the USO on base this morning for a contract All Hands meeting. When you see the Vice President of Army Contracts and his action officer along with our Program Manager, you know something is up. I hadn't read my e-mail from my boss, but there was a separate e-mail directed to me regarding the meeting.

So, the Army lowered the rates for contract positions and basically everyone is taking pay cuts for the new contract. If you don't accept it, you will be laid off. They are fighting to get them fixed. I'm sure it's the highest civilian here at the command behind this.

When I got back to our building, I looked at my e-mail from my boss and I am not getting a pay cut being I'm her second in command.

I would’ve thought that but 2 weeks ago when I was working a game they didn’t start it because the skies were threatening but it didn’t start raining till an hour later and they finally called it 2 and a half hours later. I wouldn’t doubt that doubleheaders draw better but they actually lose money and from what I noticed on the 2 doubleheaders I worked last homestand even with 20th anniversary T shirt night it only drew 2,750 people.

Too bad Acuna wasn't out for the entire season or you might have gotten to see him play in some rehab games.

I used to visit a lot more threads in the baseball section but it has gotten pretty bad. I stick to the Yankees thread and once in a blue moon there is a thread that will peak my interest.

It's an I9 league.

Apparently the whole thing is just an hour once a week? A 30-minute practice followed by a 30-minute game?

I remember 1-hour practices 2x week and then 2 hours on Saturdays at least for games.
