Do they also charge you processing fee? Or were you lucky and did not price them before requesting shipment.

A processing fee because I had these listed for a bit and they never sold. The problem is/was for example I would list a card a little above the very lowest price let’s say for .99 cents, then when I do my price adjustments (every few months) I noticed a ton of cards were added to the site AFTER I listed mine and I noticed some big tube sellers (who are probably buying large ports) list the same card for .20-.30 cents! Geez! It’s pricing me out of the market! So instead of taking a huge loss, I’d rather to put them back in my pc. I can’t compete with sellers that buy their cards Pennies on the dollar and can list them so low.

Sent three cards in for straight to grading, all 2017 Chrome Judges. Two "failed" pre grading and one passed. I said f it and sent all three in for PSA grades, two got 10's and one got an 8. So one of the "flunked" pre-grades got a 10 anyways. Grading is so subjective.

advanced mode is better - at least you don't pay the .25 up front

COMC has seemingly picked up the pace on entering submissions. It's probably been a couple years since I've had half of a bulk order get posted within a month. They also credited my account to apply the managed account discount on anything submitted after whatever date in January. Think it was around $12.

I mainly buy on there with proceeds from my sales with a goal of requesting a shipment of 70-75 cards once a month. As a result, items on my watchlist do occasionally get scooped up before I get around to buying them. Overall sales have been a tad slow yet fairly steady day to day.

A costly lesson learned on what to send in.

I still notice 0.45 errors that were not fixed from time to time. Did they fix yours? Anyone else still seeing some?

They did indeed fix mine and it took about a week since I had so many errors. They have corrected the issue but I don't think they are going to make any proactive fixes so if you notice it on any of your cards, it's best to reach out to them.

I believe employees get a processing discount. If true, it gives them a huge advantage in selling below what the customers are able to.

More likely reason is port buyers getting rid of the “chafe” for which they have no fee invested.

I just bought my first port for a whole $60. Had a few PC cards that I’d have paid $60 for on their own and a ton of $1 stuff. But also over 200 cards where there will be 70+ listed at low price already so I just went $0.09-0.29 on each of those.

From what I have heard they do not get discounts but may get their processing done faster which is advantage on the new releases. Not 100% sure but that is what I have heard.

If you look at the ID numbers of lot of the cheaper cards. They were sent is when processing as a lot cheaper. Some were sent in when it was free processing.

Plus a few that are just dumping their cards that have not sold in a long time. A little money is better than no money.

No. I bought them when they had .25 shipping, and now they have .45 shipping.

I did, but they said submitting individual corrections was the wrong way. But I thought after we discussed that via email, they'd fix them. They didn't.

I've asked this before... But, why are some sellers sending in endless thousands of junk cards that would never sell for 10-cents, let alone the 50-cent submission fee?

These are new submissions - not cards sent in years ago.

For example, the seller crossroad seems to have sent in a few monster boxes full of pure junk and prices them at 10x to 20x what the lowest already on COMC is. https://www.comc.com/Users/crossroad,sr

That is just one seller example, but there are at least 25 to 50 others who I've seen in the last few months send in huge quantities of cards that will most likely never sell at any price.

It is thousands and thousands of dollars in submission fees for cards that you can hardly give away.

I just don't get it....

COMC apparently sold a ohtani stadium club chrome rookie labeled as a refractor with a piece of film over it - been getting some coverage in the hobby

I would say the main reason is: They are really not paying attention to what they are sending in. Same thing goes when there are 100s of the same card on site. When you send in high quantities of cards at one time. It is hard to check every one of them. Just grab a box and send it in is the easiest way to go.

Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

I would add, sometimes with these junk era cards, there is the actual value (basically nothing)….then there can be comc value (being a monopoly on comc, the convenience for people making sets, etc). It’s like an eBay pick your card listing, people do sometimes pay $.99+ shipping for trash commons for the convenience of putting together a set.

I’m not saying it’s likely most of that seller’s commons will sell, if ever, but the thought process is “if I pay to $.50 to submit and charge $1.69, I’m barely eeking out a profit on that card if it does”.

Not as much in sports, but I do see the comc-value effect sometimes in Marvel. Single marvel junk era cards going for over $1 or say a 1995 Masterpieces gold sig card go for $15 on there when it’s probably like a $5 at most (but possibly was the only one on comc at the time).

I find the reverse of that too, Marvel stuff going cheap on COMC due to the ease off epack transfers and you can turn around and sell it in person or eBay for more.

Very true. All kinda depends on the era. 90s can often be what I was referring to. Modern UD epack era- comc is a buyer’s paradise with a lot of stuff pennies on the dollar.

For me these types of postings are very interesting.

I have been around the block more than once with trading cards and life. I understand people are way different in how they do things. From just dumping the cards to wanting to making a living or send their kids to college. I understand the buyers. The one who have a little extra money and doing it for the fun of it to the investors. The are a lot of in-between players in both groups. I have one guy tell me it is a game. You can play it for the fun or to win. One who dies with the most cards/value wins. No matter if we think we understand the game we will always find someone playing it differently.

I also know there are a lot of platforms out there to buy/sell/trade. It is hard to find one that will work for you all of the times.

Then you have the scammers, people who get offended over little things and the people who know very little about trading cards. You have to put up with.

PS. This site is more about people how to selling then buying. Just IMO
