Once again, you're twisting a reading of what I've said. You keep making up a condescending theme to what I'm saying, which is dead wrong. "Not knowing or caring" that Prizm is out of favor is not the same as "not understanding how baseball cards work." There's no right or wrong way to collect. Traditional baseball collectors don't like Panini. Basketball/Football guys do. If I collected basketball, I'd never buy a patch card. But in those sports they love patch cards.

It's very weird how uppity and defensive you get over how basketball money influences the baseball card market.
If you want to argue semantics, you're correct, you've never actually called someone "stupid," from the small amount of posts of yours that I've seen. But you're the most condescending, passively-aggressive insulting person I've come across on this board.

I just did a user search of yours for the phrase "don't understand" and the site spit back pages. I only glossed over the first page of 20-25 posts but the vast majority of them are all of you talking to people like you're aghast that another person had the audacity to have an opinion different from yours, which of course, to you, isn't an opinion at all, but an irrefutable fact.

Like the way you posted that there was zero chance Wander would be called up this season. You said it in such a way like it was already a foregone conclusion.

You have this sense of what the hobby is and it seems to stem from 2018-2019 and then anything that has changed since then is due to some abnormal, temporary outside influence that will correct itself that you base it on the fact that that's how it's been for the last decade. As if trends, tastes, and markets don't change for perfectly reasonable causes.

But really, it just boils down to how you belittle people who don't share your exact opinion. You may not call them stupid but you certainly treat them like they're stupid and for someone who's whiffing on mortal locks that they're throwing out, perhaps you should try a little more humility.

There's no scoreboard. Nobody cares if you or me or anyone else here is right or wrong about something. This is a place for collectors to get together and enjoy the hobby together, not for anyone to work on their self-esteem by trying to prove themselves right over someone else.

You telling 100 people how much they don't understand contributes absolutely NOTHING to this board. Be a positive influence. I won't reference this issue again.

Condescending? Sometimes sure, like just a few minutes ago to someone who definitively argues that a Wander Red Shimmer is going to double Guerrero's price for the same card. You get alot of views on here completely detached from reality

There are alot of people who don't understand alot about baseball. When someone says something like WAR doesn't measure anything and is worthless, well that's just plain wrong. It's an "opinion" as much as me having an "opinion" that the sky is pink. Sometimes it's opinion vs opinion, and sometimes it's someone saying black is white.

I was right for 4 days!

That's a weirdly specific one that doesn't reflect my opinion, but sure, go with that.

Don't confuse someone saying black is white as someone having a differing opinion than me

Exactly how it should be! Yet you seem to be very invested in that my opinion about Panini is wrong so much so that you reply every single time I mention it.

You got the wrong guy

If half the people I was probably yelling at about WAR or pitching peripherals or advanced statistics were able to digest what I was saying, this board would be a better place.

Cheers big guy!

Can we get past the back and forth that has nothing to do with Ohtani?

I missed seeing his outing today. How was his velocity?

92-94 MPH with one or two 95s from innings 1-4. Inning 5 he was 93 first three batters, and 97-99 after, and inning 6 he was 95-97. Threw 105 pitches. These velocities are just from memory so don’t take my word as fact.

Thanks! Sounds very similar to a few of his other games. Trying to put a picture together of what we can consider the norm or a baseline for him.

Solid day on the mound. Would like to see more hits at the dish over the past two days but I'll take 9K:6IP and 1R.

Hope he can get the ERA sub 2.5 by the AS break

He looked great on the mound, even though his splitter wasnt on. Still looks iffy at the plate, if he doesnt home, he looks bad.

I assume you mean homer...and the same can be said about 75% of the players today in the feast/famine mode MLB has shifted to

“Today in 1971, Philadelphia's Rick Wise plays arguably the greatest game in MLB history when he throws a no-hitter versus the Reds and cranks two goddamn homers himself for good measure. Top that one, Ohtani.”

Incredible story!
Let's give Shohei a couple of years.

Yeah, but he's chasing out of the zone too much lately. Down and away and up and in is becoming his weak spots. He is quick to adjust so hopefully he makes the necessary changes.

They are bad, but they aren't really that bad. 36-38 missing Trout for a month or so. I wouldn't put them as WS favorites but a little credit is due I think.

....and this is the one singular skill of Shohei that Ichiro said tops everything else - more than his ability to throw 100mph and hit 400-foot bombs, Ichiro liked most his ability to adjust/adapt (taiouryoku, 対応力).

it's true!

Edit: I would have joked around and said his strength was his taste in anime, but I don't think too many people would get that. He was using the Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 closing song for a while. At least we know he does something not baseball related.

I agree with this sentiment and they actually had today’s game won until the replay monster got them.

Thats just the Angels, others find a way to win, they find a way to lose. Like Stassi missing the walk off walk twice in a row by swinging over his head, and Lagares looked out to me on the replay.

Speaking of focus, there are two BGS 9 transcendent icon 10s that just popped up on auction! Great opportunity.

Another quality start for Shohei yesterday, keeping the top team in baseball to just 1 run over 6 IP with 9 Ks.

Most impressive was how he pitched without his splitter being effective, he is able to adapt his pitching plan each game to how his arsenal is working.

Was able to pitch out of all the jams, and he had plenty of stressful innings.

First to 5.0 WAR too!

It’s over for Ohtani, just had a great outing pitching but sucked as a hitter. Pack it up and mass sell off. If he can’t dominate 2 ways every single day it’s not worth his current sell prices.
