That’s weird. On Friday nights I was guaranteed 3 hours overtime as after I worked my 6 am to 6 pm shift I could always work a standby at a high school football game. The problem with AMR wasn’t having ambulances it was having enough paramedics and E.M.T’s to staff them.

A few years ago when I had to call, they took maybe 5 minutes to respond, last night was horrible. Even the cop said he didn't know what the deal was as dispatch said they were in route. Kid had to lay on the field screaming in pain while we waited.

Here's a list of all the things that happened during the games last night:
1. Before the 10U game, I had a parent ask me why their team didn't get to play at the high school game last Friday (they weren't in 1st or 2nd), she didn't like the answer and said all the kids should get to play out there and she will NEVVVVEEERRR sign her kid up for another sport with us. - Thanks Karen, please go somewhere else.

2. Little boy game was a blowout and a parent said "we are cheating by making 1 team better than the other team" - we didn't pick any player on any team, it's not our fault that when the coach has practice 5 kids show up but all 19 are at every game and are clueless.

3. Kid broke his leg on first play of the 12U game and ambulance never came when called.

4. Another kid went to the ER with either a broken hand or some dislocation. It was nasty looking.

5. 2 kids got in a fight during the game. 1 of them has already been ejected from a game this year, so as far I am concerned he is done for the season.

6. After the game while pulling trash cans, I heard people complaining the game took so long. - A kid broke his leg, what should we do just drag him off the field?

7. A coach called me from the practice fields to say the gate was locked on his field. I said the dugout gates are unlocked. He said yeah, but then we have to walk to the outfield. - Stop being lazy.

I hope tonight goes a lot smoother.
