You may have a point here. As a Vikings fan, I'm very familiar with the look of a QB who was just told by his coaches to play conservative, protect the ball, etc. and look absolutely terrible on the field.

It sounds like Patty wrongfully thought he had a TO left at the end of the half when he threw it to Hill with 5 seconds left. Regardless, it's a bad play/throw because the time ran out when Hill was tackled. I could see a scenario where Reid and the coaching staff reamed into Mahomes for that blunder and it knocked Patty out of his 1st half groove. Even before the 2nd half started it looked like Patty had a completely different attitude coming out of the locker room at halftime.

It'll be interesting to hear if anything leaks about what happened at halftime.

All i know is .. he is 26 years old. plenty of time to have some great seasons.

It is tough and disappointing but he is healthy and still a great qb. Hopefully he keeps learning and get some more superbowl chances in the future.

Tom brady cards are undervalued lol.

actually, CEH had a higher YPC average yesterday vs. Mckinnon

Mckinnon: 12 for 65 (5.4 ypc)
CEH: 6 for 36 (6.0 ypc)

But I agree, Hilaire has not been as good as advertised. Maybe the injuries?

Just a bad game overall especially in the 2nd half for the Chiefs. Hopefully, they will bounce back next year.

Silver linings:
  • Brady lost to Manning after being up 21-3. Right of passage?
  • Patty is 26 and won't hit his prime (talent + athletic + intelligence) for another couple years.
  • Last time the Chiefs lost in the AFCC they won the SB the next year.
  • Patty won't take this loss lightly and already took accountability for the loss.
  • We get an offseason to upgrade. RB? Defense? Big possession WR?

Reasons for concern:
  • Did this SB window just close? Most teams can't sustain this level of dominance this long.
  • Reid retiring in the near future?
  • Kelce on the decline? May need to find a new Kelce in the next year or so.
  • Mahomes cap hit may become a bottleneck to upgrading known talent.

Didn't Brady have like 3 rings at this point tho. That is a substantial difference from a legacy perspective.

I think this one hurts as bad as it does, due to the fact the AFC is absolutely loaded. I believed just like everyone else after the Bills game this was going to be one of the easiest shots to add #2.

Mahomes is still really fun to watch. Every great player has games they'd love to have do overs on.

He did, and if you look at what he did to get those 3 rings, especially his stats in conference championship games. It took him nearly half a decade to even muster a good performance in one. Having a top 10 defense for 14 years in NE helps Brady's legacy tremendously despite not taking a defensive snap.

Absolutely, I hope the Chiefs spend a lot of time addressing their Defense this offseason. Too much fire power in the AFC not to try and get it right.

Would rather have the above scenario than what Rodgers has had in GB.

He probably kept telling himself "if I hold onto this longer someone will break free and be wide open". Pringle kinda did but not to a point where it would've been easy. Those calculations along with knowing when to listen to and when to not listen to coaches will be the long term wisdom he'll get from this game.

Let's not forget passing stats looked a lot different in the NFL in the early 2000s. Tom Brady led the NFL with passing TDs in 2002 with 25! Wild how much the game has changed.

No, I thought you were naming RPAs which were part of the actual set, my bad. Wouldn't have made sense I suppose since Flawless is an insert and not a real RPA from the set.

Ah yeah, sorry I was trying to list all the on card RPAs in my initial post.

Not blaming Hill at all but I've watched that OT INT about a dozen times now and he jumps early (would've caught the ball on his way down). Gotta think if he high points that it's a catch and not an INT. Crazy game of inches and milliseconds.

Context matters to. It's 3rd and 10. Incomplete or a punt basically gives the game away. This was not a desperation heave but close.

Yes. He should destroy his family so he can win a few more games. His daughter would really appreciate that.

True. I guess technically it was a smart QB throw/risk that ended up as INT. Looking at the replay - Robinson probably could've been thrown open on the right sideline for the first down but after 2 consecutive plays to Robinson that ended up incomplete as best case scenario, it's easy to understand why Patty didn't go that direction.
