The only reason Collins and that team has any value is because of Trae. Be careful not to bit the hand that feeds you John....hope he is a quick learner

I’m pretty sure this is connected. This also explains his disinterest and lack of shots in the last game. Maybe he’s having his Kobe moment when Kobe decided not to shoot the ball an entire half #@♂️

This is what happens when you loose 3 games in a row that you should have won and your team is shooting horrible.
But the truth of the matter is that as much as I love Trae, he has to stop shooting 31 foot 3 pointers on fast breaks. This is stupid. It does not stretch the court. He tram doesn't even have time to get into rebounding position. Many times he could pass it off lower in the key for a layup or dunk. Collins said it right that they need to run more sets rather than take those stupid shots. Deep 3s are getting out of control... |

Also Kobe had multiple rings at this point. Trae hasn't earned the right to "have a kobe moment" yet. |

This is why you have a coaching staff, time to go to work.

I wish there was a like button on here.

^^ this guy is one of the biggest Trae fan/collectors on this board. Refreshing to see takes like this. We all know Trae is a superstar. That does not make him without his faults. John Collins has been super under-utilized this season so far, so maybe JC was speaking out with a motive, but nonetheless he was right. Also, this kinda stuff happens on every team from pros to church league. You just don’t hear about it much. Locker room leak is the real issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Kobe moment? Kobe did not shoot the ball in order to help out with the ball movement early on. He was trying to get his teammates involved. Trae didn't seem to try shooting or facilitating much in that game.

This. If you watched that Lakers Suns game he was totally into it. His teammates were inept in the second half of that game with turnovers and missed layups. Also they lost to the Suns multiple times that season where he had big scoring games so that isn’t always the answer. The Suns also shot over 60% in that game 7 if I remember correctly. Trae doesn’t have the equity to do what some think Kobe did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lakers were up 3-1 in the series, Suns tie it up 3-3. Then Game 7 came... "Attempting to finish one of the greatest upsets in Laker history in Game 7, Bryant scored 23 points in the first half, yet the Lakers trailed 60-45. It was clear then that Bryant just didn't have enough help. He was burdened with Kwame Brown's slowness, Smush Parker's foolishness, and other pieces that just didn't fit. In the second half, a frustrated Bryant seemingly made this point when he stopped shooting and, some say, stopped playing. He took only three shots in the half, scored but one point, and the Lakers lost the game, 121-90." https://www.deseret.com/2010/5/16/20...es-vs-the-suns

Kobe’s game vs Suns was approximately 10000x weirder, and it’s amazing that the narrative has changed, even for some, to Kobe desperately trying to get his teammates involved..

Trae with 3 very quick assists to start the game.
I bet him to score big this game so we'll see if it opens up for him.

Trae looks broken. Not sure what is going on.

Cause he had been doing that many times in that season, trying to get his teammates reengage into the game. If that was a one time thing and there were no precedent, you might be right. But since he had been doing that throughout the season, sometimes with a win and double digit assists, I wouldn't doubt his intention.

He's not getting to the line. He's not trying to milk those fouls. No idea what changed because that kept their score ticking over.
Their depth just isn't there with Gallo, Dunn, Rondo and now Bogie out. They still need more Trae/Collins pick and roll. We might see a coach firing here.

Haven’t watched the hawks since they last won. Good thing I didn’t sell any Trae when he was on fire. I’d be eating them eBay fees on returns.

Amazing to me how many people have never heard of such a thing as a slump or an off game. You all must have been quite the athletes in your days!
