Luka probably gets the night off tomorrow against the Rockets.

About time for Bullock. What did they say he was 3-26 or something from 3 before tonight? Guys just need to make their open shots. They doubled Luka every possession of the game and he still had 35. Would of had more assists if they didn't clank about 75% of their wide open shots.

One of the few games I haven't watched this year - really nice to see only 5 attempted 3's tonight.

Watch the "Luka magic" shot with 27 seconds left when they were up by 1. Pretty amazing.

My favorite stat of the night.

Luka FT 11-11
Everyone else FT 5-13

Not used to seeing it like that. Usually it’s flipped.

I wonder if Luka will play tonight on a back to back or he'll sit his first game of the season. Not used to him playing the entire 3rd and starting the 4th. He played 40 min last night and they needed all of them to hold on for the win. Also when is Christian Wood going to start? They need to play him more than 24 mins a game.

Luka currently 2nd in the league in steals with 2.1 per game.

Doncic has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets for rest purposes.

Not going to lie, finally feeling the MVP vibe this season.

Giannis won't play enough games.

People are tire of Jokic (especially if he's only scoring 21 ppg).

Luka will have the stats, it's just a matter of winning enough games and keeping the ankles healthy.

This could turn around, but Luka has a good shot this year. (Plus he's not fat to start the season).

I was just texting my buddy today about this.

It's the first season he's blasted out since the start of the season backing up the MVP odds. He's been the top Vegas odds guy before, but he's living up to that #1 spot now. He was really close last year but just didn't start well enough to keep the narrative on his side.

It's all narrative driven, so as long as he keeps it up and the Mavs lock in a top 3-5 seed, he's got a great chance.

Combine that with voter fatigue for Giannis and Jokic, it can happen.

They should be playing Hardy tonight. If he can't play against the worst team in the league when Luka has the night off when can he play? He's gotta get some NBA reps some time. He's been tearing it up in the G league.

Does Powell have a bullseye on his forehead? I've never seen anyone get hit in the face as much as that guy. Already elbowed once in the face tonight and now a knee to the face in the 1st quarter.

The Mavs should not need Luka to beat the Rockets. The starters have 27 points with 93 seconds left in the game. The team shot 32% from the floor and had 19 shots blocked. Unbelievable stuff.

Shameful loss. Shoulda played the rookie he might have given them the spark they needed. As i already said if he can't play vs the worst team in the league when Luka has a night off when can he play and get some NBA mins? Will he just keep sitting on the end of the bench and scoring 25 PPG when he occasionally plays in the G league? 4 games 25 PPG average. Gotta give him a chance to develop in the NBA at some point.

I think Luka made a stronger case for MVP tonight and he didn't even play =/

Campazzo should be cut tonight. Adds absolutely nothing.

Luka is the mvp, clearly shows they can’t even beat the rockets without him

The bar has been set. Time to see if the Bucks can beat the Rockets without Giannis in Milwaukee, if Boston can without Tatum, if Memphis can without Ja, and if Denver can without Jokic.

Pretty confident the Bucks, Celtics, and Grizz all win that game. Denver... definitely not last year but probably this year with Murray back.

Agreed.

He's putting up huge numbers to begin the season. Team record will likely be the deciding factor.

Morant without Bane for 2-3 weeks... this could be his opportunity to toss his hat into the ring.

Steph is off to a hot start. Scored 50 last night and Warriors lost by 11 😬.

Agreed on Giannis and Jokic. The desire to play a strong 82 game season isn't as important once you win your 2nd. Both are 27...plenty of time to put together another strong season if they want a 3rd.

This season has an impressive group of guys trying to win #1... Luka, Mitchell, Tatum and Morant with a solid group of 2 time winners (Giannis, Jokic and Curry) who could turn it on if they want #3.

I would think the very early leaders are Luka and Tatum. Boston has won eight in a row, so Tatum is getting the spotlight treatment right now.

Feels like it may be like Giannis v Joker but Tatum v Doncic this year. Boston's got a complete team and is a championship front-runner; Dallas has a meddling roster with no real championship expectations.

How do you get blocked 20 times in a game by the worst team in the league and shoot 55 3's? They took 102 shots and only made 30% of them. The starters were 3-23 from 3. Terrible. They need to seriously think about redoing their starting lineup and getting some better players. This love infatuation management has with Powell and some other players is to the detriment of their team. Guy averages like 6 points a game. But he leads the league in face punishment so there's that. He is their starting center that took over for McGee who was supposed to be their new starting center but he's been even worse. Frustrating to watch. I guess Dallas is the wost team in the league if Luka doesn't play. Rockets looked way better than them last night.

Powell has to play because McGee is unplayable.

DFS and Bullock work well when they are hitting threes. When they’re not, they add nothing on offense.

Dinwiddie had a bad game last night, but he’s been very good this year.

Wood has been great. THJ has had troubles. Green is inconsistent. Beyond that they have nothing.

It’s just not a great roster.
