Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

Their customer service seems especially bad recently in terms of getting back to you.

Have one going on- card I graded with CGC pretty far past it’s estimation date (graded with the fastest option- “Express tier”- paid a lot extra for it, turns out I’m getting bulk subs back sooner, while the express one is nowhere to be seen). Anyway simply emailed for a status update on this card…nothing in response.

So went to do a shipment from COMC, first I've done since the new S&H changes.. And lmao.

For a little over 700 cards I can pay:

Packaging & Shipping Options
Estimated Delivery Fri, August 15

$954.99 - Express

Estimated Delivery Thu, September 18

$418.99 - Economy + Express Mail

Estimated Delivery Tue, August 26

$364.99 - Standard

Estimated Delivery Tue, August 19

$919.99 - Rushed

Estimated Delivery Tue, September 23

$214.98 - Bulk

Does COMC want people to ship cards home or what?

They now charge 25 cents extra per item across the board for everything except bulk.

With Bulk, it's $19.99 to set up the shipment, and no service charge up to 500 cards per shipment.

It might be obnoxious, particularly since the cards were purchased before the surcharge was enacted.

However, the incentive is to ship 500 cards bulk, then 500 cards bulk, then 500 cards bulk, then 500 cards bulk. This is what I am doing at present.

The bulk price of $19.99 doesn't appear to be a money grab. They usually arrive 5 pounds or more Priority Mail, three or more boxes in a larger box, each card individually sleeved and with lots of packing material.

Unfortunately had a notification that bulk wasn't available for my cards, otherwise I agree, bulk would be the way to go.

Ended up going standard with a 8/21 ship date and COMC shipped it today, haha. So that's pretty rad. COMC shipping appears to be firing on all cylinders.

I am doing the same thing: shipping 500 cards at a time. The $19.99 is definitely not a money grab, in spite of what people here were saying at the time these changes were enacted. They were usually losing money (except for very small shipments) with the $5.99/$6.99 they were charging. There were times I was getting well over 1000 cards shipped home at a time. They were definitely losing money there and they shouldn't have been doing so. The $19.99 is probably close to the break even point for them especially considering, like you mentioned, the supplies they use.

Is the buying agent discontinued already?

The banner is gone, and I don't see a link to it.

Has the offer limitation always been in place? I offered to get a price in the ball park of comps and after my second offer it says I have one offer left or the buy it now price will be my only option. Anyone else finding this new?

Been around since 2012. Which is great because some users will just flood you with offers constantly.

On that second note... is it just my stuff, or does it seem like they are defaulting everything to lightly played? I had several cards move from the old condition (nothing stated) to lightly played today, and I feel pretty strongly that most of them should still be listed near mint.

The fact that it's happening today suggests that it's some kind of automated process. If not, they have people regrading years-old photos of $.75 commons on a Sunday night...

Man, this Pokemon regrading is getting out of hand. I have to reprice almost all of my cards.
Would be cool, if there would be an option for just keeping the old price.

Yeah, there's a 90s CCG I follow that is getting everything tagged into this bucket even though it had superb manufacturing quality for the era and the cards are usually quite crispy.

Not surprised.

I see the same type of blanket assumptions where virtually every 90s card I submit, and now increasingly more with 00s stuff, is going straight into the EX-NM bucket whether it deserves it or not.

This is all almost certainly due to people sending grading subs straight from COMC, which has never been that great of an idea!

Have a 185 card shipment requested 8/5 that was given a 9/12 ship date shipped today.

Looks like all CCG/TCG cards might be getting set to condition buckets.

I have over a thousand cards to reprice. I'm sure some sellers have a way lot more than that. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't get "Updating..." stalls constantly.

Just did some searches to feel this out, and it looks like everything before 2010 is now getting tagged as LP at best. Which is crazy... everyone but little kids had already been using sleeves for 10+ years by 2010.

What’s with the Terry Glenn auctions lately? Seems like 1 out of every 10 cards auctioned in the last month are some low numbered card of his, every single night multiplies of cards numbered to 25 or less. Some big player collector’s estate sale?

COMC's website is barely holding on at this point.

I can't refresh without getting an error after 3 minutes.

Probably too many people logged on trying to price esports, Marvel and TCG at the same time

So that's what's going on. I did end up increasing maybe a quarter of the prices and decreasing the rest. Most of that stuff has been sitting there since 2020.

My mail in was delivered 8/8 and no update on that one either. I'm sure the National backlogged everyone.

I requested my money back on 700 items purchased in the last week. The conditions were not set when I bought them. Now every morning has 50+ items to reprice. It was 200+ yesterday.

what can you do when you see cards you submitted that were put in someone else's inventory?
