Almost down to the hitting/pitching skill split too. I mean the guy is a good almost great pitcher IMO. And the most dangerous slugger in the game?
It’s like that clearly most talented kid on every little league team who plays shortstop, bats cleanup and is the #1 starter.

Was supposed to go to my first Ohtani game today but sadly got really sick a few days ago and didn't want to risk getting a bunch of people around me sick too. Such a bummer that I missed the game. I'm a big Rays fan, but I PC Ohtani. Really disappointed that I missed it.

I’ve always said Trout is the best player I have had the pleasure of watching but Ohtani is by far and away the most talented. It’s just nice to see him putting it all together and proving his doubters wrong.

I know Ohtani has an abundant RC cards, but I am surprised how easy it us to still get base cards under $10. Are his cards under priced based on his performance this year? His HOF path seems pretty simple going forward if he can stay healthy. Seems like 60 combined career WAR should get him in based on his uniqueness. Let's say he can be a two way player for 5 more years going forward and the becomes a position player/DH until he retires. Plus his popularity and personality should earn him goodwill. So amazing. What does everyone else think?

You are underestimating how much Ohtani base there is. There are over a million Ohtani base rookies. Update is ~ 180k, Chrome Update is ~60k. S2 is higher so call that 220k+ 50k from factory sets. You're at 500k there alone. Throw in the hitting RD which is now in favor and you're at 750,000 WITHOUT Topps Chrome, Bowman Chrome, Bowman Paper, Finest, Bowman's Best, Gold Label, Stadium Club, Fire...what else am I missing?
