Khabib dominated todays fight. It wasn't even close, really. Poirier had one ditch effort at a submission, but with how composed Khabib is during a fight, there wasn't a chance he would get submitted.

I have lost a bit of interest in the UFC lately.

The only fight that I want to see at this point is GSP vs. Khabib

There is no chance of it happening if Khabib gets beat so I am glad he won today.

My Predictions for 244 fights

Masvidal vs. Diaz
Nate Diaz by DEC
Could go till the very end

Gastelum vs. Till
Kelvin Gastelum, TKO, R2
Want Till to win but head says gastelum boxing is too good so Till can't survive this one

Thompson vs. Luque
Vicente Luque, SUB, R2
Luque to drop him eventually and finish with a sub

Lewis vs. Ivanov
Blagoy Ivanov, DEC
Head says ivanov so be it.

Anderson vs. Walker
Johnny Walker, TKO, R2
Walker is a strange case but Anderson survives here

Chookagian vs. Maia
Katlyn Chookagian, DEC
Jennifer Maia is a lovely face but it can get close could go either way

I don't know who to pick really. all fighters have paths to victory. I will wait and watch ufc a much tougher night out

The prelims and the PPV has been awesome so far and we still have the main event. Thompson looked great.

Nice night of fights last night. Usman vs Covington might have been the fight of the year. Absolutely fantastic! You can't hate the result either, maybe Covington will stop being so damn fake now.

Attended the fight and cowboy was a perfect opponent for McNugget.
McNugget probably will fight someone he can beat but still somewhat a known name. Won’t be Khabib since Khabib will maul him again and if it’s masividal, masividal will get KO’ed. Masividal has been a journey man his whole career and he won some good fights as of late but still not an elite caliber fighter who can beat McNugget. I would love to see Diaz vs McNugget III but I think McNugget will fight pac man or Floyd for much bigger payday.

I disagree. He had a hell of a performance, but to beat the champion by decision, you have to make it definitive. Reyes won rounds 1 and 2, Jones won 4 and 5. Round 3 was close both ways, but when it is as close as it was, the champion is always going to get the decision. If Reyes wanted to win the belt, he can't leave it in the hands of the judges. I am completely fine with it being a Jones win. It wasn't like it was a clear cut win for Reyes, because it wasn't. It was a hell of a fight and I look forward to seeing the rematch.

Are you kidding me? The whole "you can't win the belt on a split" USED to be a rule in the UFC, but they stopped doing that almost a decade ago. You want to explain where that rule was in the Demitrious Johnson vs Henry Cejudo fight? Yeah, it didn't exist because Demitrious Johnson wasn't making them any money despite them constantly trying to promote him as the "GOAT". That's literally the THIRD time Jon Jones should have lost by decision, but he never will because the whole decision process is rigged towards who is the most MARKETABLE and makes the UFC the most $$$. The fight game is the dirtiest sport of them all, and if you think they're just going to leave millions of dollars of potential revenue up to who "fairly won" you are extremely naive.

Is it possible Khabib v Ferguson never happens? This fight seems to be cursed.

It’s cursed and we’ll never see it.
Khabib may not be allowed to travel back to US for the fight and now they are throwing Gaethje, White is looking to make this ufc event happen at all cost and now with Possible Woolley vs Covington - Henry vs Aldo this doomed PPV could be an exciting one after all if it does happen.

Yeah, the Khabib/Ferguson fight seems to always have something preventing it from happening.

However, the card looks pretty damn good:

Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje
Jessica Andrade vs Rose Namajunas
Jeremy Stephens vs Calvin Kattar
Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik (no clue how this is a pre-lim fight)
Ronaldo Souza vs Uriah Hall
Marlon Vera vs Ray Borg

Plus you have Greg Hardy, Ryan Spann, and Alexander Hernandez on the card. Overall, it is a pretty damn good card.

Ngannou closing the pre lim to try and get ppl to impulse buy the PPV. not uncommon to to have a main card worthy fight to close the ppv pre-lim in the espn era

Joe Rogan stated that he won’t be commentating the fight, White says Rogan never said that and he is going to be doing the commentary?

Because we’ve gone so long without actual live sports? Otherwise absolutely not.

I think the card is stacked, leading up to it there were lot of talks of Woodley vs Covington - possibly being an addition to the fight.
Originally had Ngnnou closing out the prelims but he is bumped up to PPV.
I like Cruz to win in a tough five rounder!

Meh card. Ferg fight should be good but i really dont care since its not khabib.

Feel like ufc is missing a huge opportunity to actually put a stacked card together. No other sports available and this is what they could come up with?

I am happy fights are happening... But wouldnt pay for this card in any situation.

Khabib and a Woodley/Covington would have elevated this to an all timer. Personally I think UFC 241 is the one to beat. That was the card that got me to take the plunge on ESPN +. 3 headliner fights that all lived up to the build up.

The card is still pretty damn stacked. One of the more stacked cards they have put together.

Ferguson vs Gaethje
Cejudo vs Cruz
Ngannou vs Rozenstruik
Stephens vs Kattar
Cerrone vs Pettis
Oleinik vs Werdum
Esparza vs Waterson
Hall vs Souza

Thats a pretty damn good card considering the circumstances. You have to understand that they aren't "missing an opportunity". They have an event on May 13th and May 15th as well. They haven't been able to have a lot of out of country guys come in. I believe every fighter on the 249 card is training within the United States (I could be wrong on that though). Right now, UFC can't just throw every fight into one card. They have to spread the "top" fights out if they are going to continue to be the one live sport going on within the country. You can't throw Ferguson, Gaethje, Woodley, Covington, Masvidal, etc. all on one card otherwise you have nothing to market. And even with that, they have put together a great card for 249.

Ferguson vs Gaethje. Ok
Cejudo vs Cruz dont care. Figity point fighter vs cringe rasler

Ngannou vs Rozenstruik dont care. Womens mma is awful imo.
Stephens vs Kattar meh

Cerrone vs Pettis meh. Cerrone should walk away. Pettis is entertaining but not top tier.

leinik vs Werdum i mean... Cool?

Esparza vs Waterson meh

all vs Souza meh

Its not a stacked card. You have to understand the other options they had and disnt use.

Its an ok card. Not worth breaking the paywall and spending real money on. At all.

I'll be interested to see how the ppv does. No other options. Its this or cartoon reruns.

We are never going to see Khabib vs Tony, Sh!t is just cursed.
Colby vs Woodley was in the talks and woodley was scheduled to fight in March but it seems as we are getting Woodley vs Burns.
It wouldn't shock me if Gaethje rocks tony and gets the title to get mauled by khabib later this year.
