That one confused me because the cards from the same submission look real to me

Agreed those are definitely both real. Not so sure about that other one.

I’m waiting for them to start fake stamping the Archives anniversary inserts of these.

With the last Chipper I called out being inconclusive, I am going to treat it like a walk. Which means I'm still 5/5. Here are two more that I think may be fake

Topps Desert Shield BGS 9.5 0008907882

The BAS auto is real.

All those BGS ones you’ve mentioned are going to be fake.

Alright 6/7. Yes, these next 3 are common cards, but a Fake is a Fake

Figured this was the best thread for this. I work at Goodwill and just got these in with a donation and wanted to see if you guys had any thoughts. Based on what they came in with it seems unlikely they are fake, but I’m no expert.

How many pages of those are there? And do you have a way to contact the person who unknowingly donated something fairly valuable?

22 cards in total. No we do not contact customers after they donate items unless they reach out to us. But they donated a rather large card collection, this was just the bit the caught my eye the most. They will be up for auction on shopgoodwill.com in the next couple days.

Hey guys,

I have an opportunity to purchase a rather large lot of these cards. They probably run from ExMnt to Mint, and include a good distribution of commons as well as minor stars and stars, checklists etc. My question is on authenticity considering the fakes pointed out in this thread. I feel good about the lot considering all the commons involved, as I assume the fakes are focused on the bigger cards. Is this a correct assumption or should I be wary regardless? Thanks!

One of these I've had for many years, and the other I just purchased raw.

Any opinions? Some fakes I can spot and some, it seems, I cannot.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected. The Jeff Blauser I've had since the '90s and I thought the Benito Santiago looked the same, although the color/shade was slightly different.

Default Fake Card?

I am looking for an opinion if this recently acquired Desert Shield card is real of fake.

In just a quick search on eBay, it's comical how many fakes are in PSA slabs.

Post the fakes so that I can add them to the Altered Card Database. Thanks!

I'm not even an amateur at being able to tell what's real or fake, only that I saw ones where the imprint looked solidly different on two examples of the same card, implying one isn't real.

I feel like the right side of the tree (and other things) look subtly different

Yeah, there are too many…wait, you weren’t just referring to Desert Shield cards, were you?

Someone posted this card in one of the Facebook groups. Some of you may already be familiar with it. eBay kicked it back. I'm trying to determine if its genuine myself and it isn't easy. At first glance, it looks legit with the shape. This stamp is missing some foil in different spots. The foil also seems to be cracking or something. Lastly, it's from a seller that's in the same area where many fake Chipper Jones are originating. Just a few red flags but I still can't tell.

Everything about that says real. If it’s fake, it’s time to give up on authenticating them.
