Instead of talking out of my -ss, thought I would take a look at a break. I get it. The effect of opening a box is remarkably similar to looking at the bottom of a chlorine-laden swimming pool. Cool.

Blasters on Dick's about to go out of stock shortly. I have a feeling the FOMO will drive blaster prices up also. Especially after the Sam's Club package sells out and starts hitting ebay.

I don't understand the terrible takes about value, other than just trying to be contrarian or justifying why you didn't buy more, or missed out or whatever.

#'d cards are going to outsell base cards or unnumbered all the time, and your odds of hitting #'d in this product are exponentially higher in this product than all other retail products and on par with hobby products that cost 2-3x. (Also like to add that the base cards are bringing in big $ right now). Your odds of hitting a Nebula 1/1 are like 1:12. That's AMAZING for a box that almost anyone can afford.

Getting into resale values of singles versus the box price is not a helpful analysis unless you do it for every other product and compare them all side by side. Saying that you are projected to lose money when you rip a box is like saying water is wet. What standard are we failing here? To hand someone a $10 bill and not receive 12 ones back in return? We all know that ripping is a losing proposition, but the odds of breaking even or winning are substantially higher here, as well as the fun factor being much higher.

Hit a Wemby /25 Hoopla & Lebron case hit Trophy card & another case hit Presentations insert. Not bad for 2 boxes.

It's not about losing money when ripping, it's about how much you are losing.

I don't think anyone has claimed these are bad at 130. Every one that bought some at those prices is happy and everyone that didn't regrets it. It's a great rip at those prices.

But people left and right are talking about how awesome of a product it currently is - when boxes are 300 and Megas are 100. The market prices on these gives you about the same return as most Panini release but you don't hear people drooling over them.

If anything, I'm happy because I can finally afford some nice, licensed numbered Wemby cards.

It's pretty funny the two most popular threads on here for product are this and Topps Chrome Basketball.

Is "Hoops sucks" and "Unlicensed trash" the new gold mine?

I agree, but there isn’t any calculation to “how much you’re losing” other than pointing at one or two card sales and proclaiming victory. I’m not sure I have the time but could try and leverage the Prizm, Optic and Select threads to actually compare the products side by side and prove that even at resale price these are “less bad” but I don’t know what that does other than point out the obvious and try to win internet points

I wish I would've bought more. I'm holding my 2 boxes for now.

Was Sam’s club already in stock or waiting for it to show up? I see it on their site.

Anyone rip it yet?

They probably didn't want to put the word Hoops in the name so people will think this products better than it is

Opened my first of 3 boxes, nothing big, but it feels good to open a product that's fun and actually has a solid chance of pulling big cards. Really wish I had bought more at MSRP.

The Anti Gravity Giannis and Sheesh Amen are both numbered to 88

If anyone spots a dead rapper in the background of any card in this for a new pump session, keep me posted please.

Thanks!
