If you know what you're doing and can do your thing without worrying about what everyone else is doing, you'll find joy in the hobby. Everyone here wants to define how the hobby should be according to their own beliefs and it's comical to see because clearly they aren't enjoying themselves.

The hobby indeed is healthy and this product has been easy to make money on. Cases were available on Topps and through Fanatics reps, and megas were easily obtained from the Fanatics site. Easy 50% plus profit, gas rewards from buying Fanatics gift cards and CC rewards on these purchases. I'm not going to bash those who open this stuff, instead you and I can sell to them and use the profit to add things we like to our collection.

The same people who will tell you all day long that sports cards are not an investment seems to be unable to understand the hobby in terms of anything other than return on investment.

There was a 30 case (210 box) player auction that ended on eBay last night. The Skenes spot ended at just over $10k. Unreal

1992 Topps is a fine set of Baseball Cards. Not quite as epic as 1991, but still darn purdy. Is a shame when for both sets, most can’t see past the $0 value of them.
Just out of curiosity as I spent my gambling budget on 2 boxes of Pro Debut this year and my obvious flip budget on Heritage minis, were “Megas” of this ever intended to actually appear in a 3D retail store? i.e. over time this product started out as a retail Mega exclusive (13), became a Target hanger exclusive, then a Hobby/retail mix, and is now a Hobby exclusive? Seeing the new hanger format for Stadium Club this year made me wonder where TCU would head. I gotta go buy some regular Update purple lottery tix right now, cuz I like the $0.00 cards inside, cya l8r |

You’re the equivalent of Chevy Chase thinking doing a late night talk show was easy until he realized that people didn’t really care what he had to say. You can cry and whine all you want, sport…the hobby is where it is and it’ll move forward with or without your participation. The next 5 years are going to be great for flippers and breakers AND collectors…except maybe people like you who like to shake their fists at the clouds and are impossible to please.

Opening wax has always been the entry point for people into the hobby. Fanatics is taking short term “success” off the backs of degenerate gamblers at the expense of long term growth. It will catch up to them eventually. The recipe for success in trading cards has been perfected by The Pokemon Company, yet Fanatics wants to do the exact opposite.

You need to flip the page on your calendar. The reason you’re so high and mighty in your little space is because you and maybe four other people are the only ones that feels the way you do. Fortunately, your opinion is only contained in your own posts and not the general feeling of people attending The National or Fanatics Fest. Degenerate gamblers are here and they’ll be here as long as their money holds out. Maybe you’re able to take advantage in other ways and if not, maybe you’ve found why you’re so upset. It’s okay to have your own opinion, though. Just don’t get mad that 99% of the rest of the people involved don’t share in it.

It always cracks me up when people think this is about money. That 50% income tax for you has gone to your head.

This isn’t about money, son. This is about finding the part of the hobby you enjoy and actually enjoying it. All you do is whine and cry. Maybe this hobby isn’t for you if you can’t find your lane. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

You post things about the stock market, return on investment, price of wax - all of them are about money. Even your comment on his tax % is about money.

Keep reading through your maple syrup covered lenses little angry man. Your part of the Blowout safe spaces cabal that can’t tolerate any negative commentary on products.

Poor little guy needs a safe space. You’re among friends. You’re safe here (your 1% opinion aside). Those lenses sound delicious, BTW.
