Beautiful card!!It’s one of my favorites! As far as the back defect I think it’s very minor, not really noticeable, and personally if there’s going to be a defect I would rather it be on the back of the card. In my mind, no card (including PSA 10s) are perfect. Id def put the 1993 refractor on the short list of must have Frank Thomas cards for Thomas collectors!

Oh and how do I post so my image is not so large?

Magnetics display nicely but the top loaders are already proven to provide more than enough protection. Most of my cards are stored in a binder with the Thomas cards leading the way!

What scanner are you using? It may be time to upgrade mine. Right now I take pictures of my refractor cards with my phone.

Epson V370. You can usually pick them up for about $100 if you look for sales. I'm a huge fan, especially if you sell a decent amount. I'm a firm believer that the more/better scans you have the higher your card will sell for. Just a few examples of how different types of cards scan (note - I spend about 30 seconds in photoshop sharpening the image)

Wow Those are some great scans (and really nice cards as well)! Do you use photoshop for that really nice refractor finish or is that how the cards appear from the scan itself? I have the Epson v19, which is decent however it does not scan graded cards well at all and does not present refractor cards nicely. Thank you for taking the time to show what your scanner can do

The cards scan like that without any photoshop work. All I really do is sharpen the image to make it look more like it does in person. Next time I scan something I'll keep a raw scan around to show you the difference.

You need a CCD scanner instead of a CIS scanner. I would advocate for the epson V370 or V600. There are a few threads about this, but they are definitely worth it if you sell a decent amount or enjoy looking at your collection remotely with scans.

I appreciate that. If possible for comparison purposes if you can scan a refractor (like the 1993 finest Thomas) that would be great! I appreciate you taking the time. I recently got a raise so I guess now is as good as time as any to make an upgrade, lol.

Picked these up recently. I believe only 25 of the red letter variation were made.

Is there a resource for not only checklists of every year of every card but also the odds of inserts and parallels?

I want to work on growing my collection by looking at checklists and seeing which cards I have and which I want/need to get.

Great cards here. This is probably my favorite thread on BlowOut.

Instead of listing a ton of my own photos here, I made a video (mostly 1990s cards), which includes several high end inserts and multiple 1/1s.

Not as rare as some of the other cards that have been posted, but they've become more difficult to come across lately it seems. Picked this up a few weeks back:

I haven't forgotten about this, just finally getting a chance to scan a few things.

Here's a raw scan from my v370

Here's after 30 seconds in photoshop/windows picture editor

In case any of you are looking for one of these, here's a heads up. Bought this from PWCC (should have known) a few weeks ago. Got it in the mail and immediately noticed issues with the back of the card. There are 1-1.5" creases/indentations in the circled areas. They're incredibly hard to see in scans so be aware if you're in the market for one. I paid what I think is top dollar for this, but the last time it sold when the seller actually disclosed the damage it went for $158. From what I can tell every other time it's sold it's been returned
