He's probably going to be late for practice tonight since I have to get our taxes done before his practice.

I keep getting phone calls about the lights at a field we told the person in charge of baseball not to have late practices at because the lights have been messed up. I’ve told the guy over and over what the deal is and he still doesn’t get it. Keeps saying I need to fix the lights. Dude, I can’t climb a light pole and fix them, and it’s really not my problem when I’ve told the person to not use the field after dark.

Yes, they can still be on the team but when the parent starts yapping I politely say the kids who come to practice and are ready to go when practice starts get the playing time.

Yeah, that's why they asked to be ready for a call to join the other team when they are short on players to play the other county teams. Same for them regarding fill ins for us. It just seems tough filling out little league teams here with the Middle School having a team, high school teams, and travel ball.

That’s how it is here. Kids that aren’t good enough for school ball play 15U and now since someone’s grown son couldn’t get a spot on the high school team last year and had no shot at college ball, 19U. I asked if next year it would be 20U.

I’m all for kids playing, but at some point you’re either good enough or you give it up.
