It's knee jerk reactions. People here acting like the sky is falling.

Soto will be fine. He has already proven himself. Baseball has slumps, he is in a slump. He will break out of it.

This is what's weird...it's not knee jerk, at all.

Juan Soto has not been an elite hitter since moving to SD.

Juan is a PC for me so this has nothing to do with InVe$tinG.

You know its not a good start when we aren't even pumping his walks.

Side note: that was really sad to see last year. The pumping of walks, because there wasnt anything else to pump for weeks.

As you should

He’s listed at 24 years old. So he’s probably only 27. So that is 10 good years to go

Soto had a "down" year in 2022 at age 23.

146 OPS+
.401 OBP
AS, SS, 5.6 WAR

Must be washed

You don't understand, it's that his "down year" has continued a week into this season that's the problem.

It’s like you investor boys refuse to see what’s right in front of you. How can a 220ish average over more than a season now possibly be dismissed? A week or a month sure. I’m not out here saying Bobby Witt is a busy because he’s slow start in 2023. I’m not even saying Juan is a bust.
I am saying he’s isn’t getting a 400mm contract.
He really does seem to have lost the ability to hit.
He can walk as well as anyone still.
He’s maybe a good baseball player worth being in the show but not a great all time talent

Discussing these facts seems perfectly normal in a thread like this. Ignoring or saying chill
Out fair weather fan to such observers doesn’t even make sense. Unless you’re afraid of how much money you’ve lost then I guess talking about it on a public forum may not be the best move.

Understandable that the nuggets be a little tender of late...here's hoping Juan finds his Maas, soon. Baseball is better when he is on!

If you are worried, it is because you have a large amount of $ into his cards and are "investing" in him and not collecting.

I am not worried.

Soto will be fine.
Will he be fine? Or has he simply not developed into the hitter everyone here thought he would have 5 years ago?

Soto is not in the same stratosphere as Tony Gwynn, except for the Padres uniform.

I got heat for a Cecil Cooper comparison. That's a better one, although Cooper may be better.

Soto will hit 25-30 homers, be streaky, and bat .280ish, slug in the mid 4s and get on base at decent clip. See Cecil Cooper
