Focus on the positive and work towards ending the negative.

Practice last night was only an hour as they only had access to the batting cages.

The coach couldn't secure a time for pitchers today and the only other picture day is Saturday afternoon when the team is down in Locust Grove. Coach said that his wife does photos for the middle and elementary school so she is just going to take our photos and then send them to the parents. That saves some money.

We've already had 2 fire alarms go off here at work this morning.

The first one happened right before I arrived and I just stayed out front by the parking garage. Ft. Belvoir Engine 46 and Fairfax County Tower 424 responded. Unusual for Fairfax County to come on base; maybe Belvoir's tower is OOS. They are doing walkway construction out front and the Tower slammed into fencing that i sup because it couldn't make the turn trying to leave. An MP had to move one of the barriers on the grass behind it so he could get out. Should have brought a tiller.

I'd be fine with paying more taxes if I could get a specific run down of what I'm actually supporting. But if I have to sift through a hundred pages of crap and connect dots like Pepe Silva, I'm not voting for it.

Busy week coming up for me and the family. We are leaving Friday morning to go to a Pat Benatar concert in Biloxi and after that we are driving to Florida to visit my mother for a couple of days. I feel bad for our pets as our dog is going to be in the vets holding area for 4 days, one of my wife’s friends will take care of the 3 cats but if it were up to me I really wouldn’t drive to Florida for a 2 day visit, hardly seems worth the effort. My wife always says well your mother is not getting any younger and you won’t have her much longer. That is true but then I also remember how many times we invited her and my stepfather before he passed away to Mississippi and they always had one excuse or another not to come. My wife is a better person than I am as she doesn’t hold grudges whereas I can remember all the cruises and trips they made to San Diego to visit my stepbrother while never once coming to Mississippi. Oh well I will try to enjoy it but I am really upset that my wife doesn’t let me know about these plans a little more in advance.

What is it with this week and travel plans. My sister yes the one I can barely stomach just emailed the arrangements for the family reunion from March 16th through the 22nd 2026. It is scheduled for one of the most expensive resorts at Disney with a couple of studio rooms if more people come than expected. Sorry but even if my wife says we shouuld try to make it this one is where I put my foot down. I don’t like Disney anyway and I really don’t like most of the people that will be there. I will not go in hock to have a miserable week and my pets also do not need another week of having to be cared for by other services.

It's a union in name only. I taught for 7 1/2 years, they always pressured teachers to join so they could get money for nothing. I didn't know one teacher that was a member. I'm sure they have members, but I don't get their place in the state. I always felt the pay was good for working less than 200 days a year.

It wasn't the money I was getting paid to play softball back then during the summer, but it was still good. Yeah it was some long hours and draining work, but it's what teachers signed up for. I would get there at 6 every morning, and get home around 10 most nights after practice and the commute. But I signed up for the coaching side. I knew teachers that showed up at 7 am and were home by 3:30.

PSTA is larger in membership, and still only has about 1/4 of all educators in the state as members.
