I'm not sure where prices are for hobby boxes/cases but if they are still at a significant discount compared to Prizm I'd probably do it.

Select is the next best option to Prizm IMO. But yeah, I would only do a sealed case.

BO Has a case of Crusade. There are some other nice hits in there outside of the base set. Crusades and colors are a sleeper in price still, but for how long?

At this point, you reckon it makes more sense to just nab something off of ebay straight up instead of rolling the dice on the case? Cost of a case these days, if you're confident that the cards will keep going up in a value for a bit, might be a safer play, no?

Oladipo is there, but the wax is all about Giannis at this point. So it makes more sense to me to just buy the Giannis. Singles are easier to store and move than wax. They're also nicer to look at.

PSA 9 Giannis Base Prizm went for $371 tonight. Those went for $200+ change a month or so ago!

It would be different if the Bucks wore a red jersey every now and then... But I'm not sure if they have worn those again since his rookie season... Red just doesn't scream Bucks to me.

The red was not used in the photo shoot, it was from a game. Many complaints about prizm is that in game photos were not used for the rookies. Are some getting too picky on what they want in a card?

Seems like there are a lot of people trying to pump and dump the Select Giannis.

I don't care for Select at all. Don't like the Red jersey. The reason I never bought any select was because there were different subsets (red hot & draft selection) along with the normal base. Was kinda confusing for me back then.

Prizm is pretty straight forward.

Do you mean insert sets? There is only one Select Giannis rookie. They didn't evolve to 3 tiers until 2014-15.

Yeah, the 13-14 Select are pretty easy to figure out. I agree the later years definitely get a little confusing.

When Select first came out, I was not even certain which one would be the better card in the long run. Obviously, it's pretty clear that the base is more desirable. But at the same time, it only takes a small buyers group to hype up the others, create speculation about how Short Printed they could be, and then you have very little interest in the base.
So to me, I was looking at it as there are 3 Select Giannis' to choose from, while the Prizm was pretty cut and dry. Just had the one.

I can't remember a situation where a subset has done better than the base set rc (unless there is some SP set that I'm not thinking of at the moment). If anything, if a subset goes up, you will most likely see the true rookie go up also.

I think a set like Crusade can be confusing because there is a paper Crusade rookie and a chrome Crusade rookie. I just see that as multiple opportunities to succeed from a wax perspective

As would I, 100%, but full disclosure, I'm more heavily invested in the #/99s and #/49s than I am Silvers
