two aesthetic issues with the Status card imaged above:
1. dunking isn't what particularly distinguishes Luka's game
2. the background design has no rhyme or reason to it, why not just do Kandinsky-style backgrounds on stuff. But at least it isn't noisy or off-putting in some way. The lined portion in gold in the upper left has a nice look in the abstract, but from the rhyme-or-reason standpoint, swirls or smears might have a nice look too.

True! But he does dunk on occasion, and it also looks 100x better than him just standing there or dribbling imo.

Also for sure I can see that with the background. I feel like a lot of base sets don’t always have a rhyme or reason to the design as it’s more about the aesthetics really. If it were an insert I’d feel much different as there’s usually a “theme”.

Thanks man and yeah they’re usually pretty rough. Weirdly like them for that reason. Gives ‘em a little character

not sure if its been mentioned, the Mavericks To Sign Derrick Jones Jr.

A great vet. min. signing that should bring athleticism and length to the 10-15 roster spot.
