Love everyone’s opinions! I think I’m still leaning the right side but it’s a 49/51 kinda deal.

its not a bad option if people are priced out of the main brands

Finest has some of the sweetest Ohtani signatures out there, imho.

What about dabbling in 2019 rookie cup cards? The 2019 Sapphire hitting card is pretty awesome for an affordable price.

As 2018 prices keep rising, collectors will gravitate towards more affordable 2019 rookie cups.
I'm glad I was able to get my hands on this color match.

Sho/Trout duals have been going up a bit and showing some surprising resiliency even after the two were a meme for a few years.

I guess I will just have to let this guy think he has the best Ohtani collection in Michigan!

Edit: I just looked at the X post...my collection is way larger and better!

Given some of the cards I've seen get posted here, my first thought when I saw the $100k number was...that's it?

I wouldn't consider myself a big time Ohtani collector and divested a decent amount of what I had during the Covid surge (which I am still kicking myself for), but given current pricing what I sold and what I have left would have been pretty close to that $100k number.

And even back then I couldn't have hoped to come even close to you all.

I enjoy this thread because it's not a measuring contest. Many price ranges and many ways to collect - all joyful. Let him have his moment in the sun.

100% agreed, collect how you like, collect what you can, etc. - but the author really needed to do a bit more research. I mean, "rivals any in U.S."? Really?
