Soto just tested positive for COVID-19

Does this mean he's out a minimum 14 games? If so, that's 23% of the season

Oh man, another risk in holding cards. Hopefully he recovers and is able to play again one day.

Heard it on the way to the post office.

1 thing though, it's 2 weeks, not necessarily 14 games.

Not only that, but the aftermath, will he 100% be ready to go once he is cleared?

I hope everything is okay with him, one of my favorite young players to watch.

Worst case realistic scenario is probably two weeks. Best case is that it was a false positive and he's back this weekend.

I mean, if you've followed the news the worst case is he could potentially die.

Key word was realistic.

Less than 5 hours before first pitch.. This doesn't smell fishy at all!

Ugh - so frustrating

Hope he is like freeman and it goes pretty quick, and he comes back no worse for the wear... plus on the bright side, it hopefully means he won’t get it again

PS I wonder how he got it??? Hasn’t the team been in isolation for weeks?

Has he been around any other players? How does that work?

I posted this in this thread on July 7th

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/j...19-per-report/

“Washington Nationals superstar Juan Soto is currently isolating away from the team after coming into contact with a teammate who tested positive for COVID-19, the Washington Post's Jesse Dougherty reported Tuesday. Soto spent the MLB shutdown in the Dominican Republic

Over the weekend Martinez confirmed two Nationals players tested positive for COVID-19 but did not reveal their identities. MLB and the MLBPA agree COVID-19 is a "non-work-related" injury and thus subject to the privacy guidelines in the collective bargaining agreement. Teams can only announce who tested positive for COVID-19 with the player's permission.“

Now he might hit .500 this year if he only plays 30 or so games.

Rizzo said Soto was tested 2 days ago, got the result early this morning. He'll need to test negative twice over a span of more than 24 hours to be cleared. That's MLB/CDC protocol, isn't subject to D.C. laws. Rizzo said contact tracing doesn't prevent anyone else from playing.

Freeman was sick as a dog. Soto is showing no symptoms.
