Other than the phantom gun thing, which to be honest, other players have done, what really irks people about him? It seems that he gets along well with his teammates, has that clutch gene still, and I don't see the whole entourage being give camera or media time. I know Indy has made peace with the Grizz.

As long as he is focused on basketball, I would not be adverse to adding some Ja pieces, if the career warrants as it progresses. Thing is, no way Grizz make it past second round, as they are currently constructed. I think he will find a middie All Star level, especially with Shai an essentially better version of the undersized point/shooting guard, surrounded by way more talent.

Would have been interesting to see Grizz kind of kick ass with Bane or Edey at the helm or whoever, but then Pack would have become insufferable. And high-end collectors hate having to reorient their holdings.

So...do these other players doing "phantom guns"..have the same history as Ja?

I'll wait..

And it's his attitude mostly

After all the crap...he's out tweeting Ja this Ja that lol...doing the fake gun celebrating....THEN after being REMINDED nicely given his history hey don't do that, what does he do IMMEDIATELY after...

I think some took it from a movie. Like Nesmith when he got knocked down and took an offensive foul would sometimes come up guns blazing, as with Keanu falling through the sky in the Matrix. But I guess he wasn't aiming at anyone.

Context is everything. Some people take freedom of whatever with the wrong attitude. Like, what's the limit, so I can push it. On the other hand, to resist is sometimes a valid act of defiance against intrusive government, Internet, corporate interests. Sports always has fulfilled a niche in humanity that lets out stress. That should be persevered.

What in the hell does any of this..

A- mean

B- have to do with Ja?

You asked what irks people about him and said well others have done it (the gun thing)

And again...nobody else that has done it was busted multiple times on IG live with guns, "threatened" another team after a game (Pacers incident), had to have a sit down with the commissioner and missed half the season due to all said incidents

Him "defying" the mean NBA for telling him what to do/ not to do is Draymond level idiocy...and even Draymond couldn't believe what Ja did

His piss poor attitude is "whar irks people"

Okay, thanks for the context. I really don't follow the IG NBA feed.

Ja has a victim's mentality. Doesn't seem to take accountability for his actions, nor does he appear to want to change.

Joakim Noah used to do a similar celebration in games but stopped after yet another gun incident in the country out of respect for the victims.

Regardless of where you stand on gun violence, compare and contrast Ja's recent comments with how Noah responded.

I'll say it hopefully without somebody calling me racist, but he's a thug- a wannabe thug if anything. That sheet is old and people grew tired of it 20 years ago. Not to mention he can barely score 15-20 most nights. Ant is a horrible person. Tatum has personality of cardboard. Zion is a fat 'what if'. The new generation of American swingman are not likeable and Ja is the worst of the bunch.

Ja probably isn't a gangster in real life, but like Tupac did he loves the "thug life" aesthetic.

Ant is less likable to me though. Can't stand him.

It seems to me the big stars of yesteryear were those that represented the game well and not just themselves. And earned multiple trips to at least conference finals. Probably this will hold in the long run as well with today's crop.

We're at the point where the talent can't cover the negatives. He should take notice asap

I thought we were at that point a couple of years ago when he didn't want to stop flashing guns around.

Maybe since then Memphis has wanted to privately trade him but he hasn't been productive/healthy enough to get the return they want.

They should have kept Bane and moved him.

Spot on. He's completely unlikeable. Makes his on court talent not matter.

4 first round picks for a non-all star is a hell of a return. They probably saw the writing on the wall with Ja and realized that they would have to start rebuilding soon. Can't pass up that many picks for Bane in that scenario.

He had the talent and jaw dropping ability to be on the elite level with Jordan. He chose poorly, and in my eyes, is sports biggest failure.

He needs to Tom Brady take care of his body, and completely overhaul his attitude in order to become memorable in the NBA.

It sucks seeing such talent wasted on a wannabe “ gangsta attitude”. Such a fool!
