Forgot Kevin Long was in Seattle too...he may have once again perfected that Soto swing....
that last hit reminded me of the 2019 playoff game winner against the Brewers in the 1st round.

Nah, that'd be fine.

2019 WS was worth it.

At least getting rid of Rendon was smart! Man he's done next to nothing since he left.

That was a no brainer. But it hurts losing Harper, Soto, and Scherzer, and not really having anything for it. They don't have a lot of pieces to build with.

Definitely not. They did get some good talent in the Soto deal though such as Gore.

Gore is still very young, but he’s been underwhelming thus far for them. He didn’t exactly light it up in the minors either. Not sure he’s going to pan out as hoped.

He's shown some signs. Not sure about Abrams though.

At least the Nationals weren't delusional and traded Soto away. While those prospects may never turn into anything, at least they took a shot at it. The Angels on the other hand are going to get stuck with absolutely nothing.

Saw a report earlier that they are taking offers for Shohei now. Doesn't mean they will actually do anything though.

Abrams is showing signs. He has some improvement to make at the plate, but he has a little bit of pop and some decent speed. And I would never write off a 22-year-old’s defense just because he’s making some errors at this stage of his career.

Don't give 'em too much credit, they didn't trade Harper in '18. The return on Harper, Soto, Turner, and Scherzer should have been pretty nice. It's meh, at best.

I mean, they won a World Series, so that at least is something.

Scherzer and Turner were traded for 2 top 100 prospects plus others, and they were expiring contracts(well, mostly). Dodgers got 3 months of Scherzer and 1 year, 3 months of Turner.

At the time of the Soto trade, many people thought San Diego gave up too much, or it was a lot. 2 young MLB ready prospects plus 2 more top 50 prospects for Soto and a rental of Josh Bell, that's the best any team could hope for on a guy who isn't going to sign long term for your team.

Even if Topps cant QC every sheet, can we at least double check the 1/1 sheets? I could QC every 1/1 sheet that Topps prints, in a calendar year...in about 10 minutes. They should want the 1/1, /5s, /10s to look better than this. Its the very reason people are paying the stupid prices they are for boxes.

With both Soto and Harper, we gave them both the best deals we could afford to offer. Turner and Scherzer were to get younger with Josiah and Ruiz. I think Davey Martinez is doing a hell of a job influencing the youth’s work ethic and mindset through adversary. I personally think it was Boras that influenced Soto away from a city he was truly cherished as a first son.

Think he's the worst 24-year-old defensive outfielder I've ever seen. Just blew another flyball to left that cost the Padres two runs.

Followed it up by striking out with 2 runners on the next inning.
