Well I am calling the flipping game officially done at Walmart with a $29.98 price on 15 cards in a 2021 Mosaic hanger. That is $2 a card and you will likely whiff.

There is absolutely no flip margin at all in this and many (if bought at retail) are losing money in the sale.

Think about this $29.98 on the shelf for what was a $11.98 product not long ago.

Hobby gouging has hit retail.

I’m still buying to rip and stash. No quick money to be made for the vendor stalkers though.

I’m guessing this means Target will continue to get hit hard though.

Target and Base Exchanges are potentials for some margin.

When NBA/NFL Prizm hits maybe MAYBE there is some margin for a flip if you find volume but I anticipate prices the same or more.

I’m not putting down thousands into retail but grabbing up a handful of the major releases that I think will be viable long term. Flagship, Chrome, Mosaic, Optic, Prizm, Donruss.

I don’t think you can lose buying and holding any of that long term. At least at retail cost. I’m not touching any pre-manipulated hobby wax right now at these prices.

Thanks. I’ve had a lot of fun with the hangers. I’ll probably grab some blasters, I just find the hangers to have a better hit ratio.

I rarely make a trip to this particular town that I have a client with but had an early morning commute for a meeting at 7 am, so I decided to just see if there would be anything good at 6am opening. I walked in and the rep was stocking, and a customer was waiting with his buggy. Here is a pic of what he had in his cart...

The rep seemed to be a really nice guy and the customer was watching each box he opened. As he opened them, he just added to his cart. He had 30 hangers and 15 blasters of Mosaic FB. He also had the 4 Playoff Megas. He left Optic Basketball.
I did ask him if he’d mind if I got 2 blasters and 1 Mega but his response was “nope, doing some breaks tonite”.

They is a group not far from me that is breaking and selling Mosaic.

15 hanger lots: Buyers pay $28 at 32 spots for a chance to win all 15 hangers.

15 hanger breaks at set prices for teams ($100 Patriots, $50 KC…)

Same seller. I’m thinking it’s the same hoarder that cleaned out this WM. Also got word from a friend who said he saw a guy matching the same description I gave cleaning out another display at a WM 20 minutes away. Dude spent $2000 today on retail.

Was at walmart last night, They had optic Basketball blasters, $40 a pop? No thanks. And they had Mosaic Megas. Grabbed one, hit a genesis Bol Bol and a few base rookies. Also had a ton of playoff football blasters and megas. This was Thursday, Restock is done wednesday. They were however sold out of topps baseball.

don’t think any topps was stocked this week, at least in most stores.

All the WM's in my area have a 2 limit per family limit on cards. They're kept behind the register that has the tabacco products. I haven't even seen mosaic FB yet.

my local was limit 1 item total for almost a year, behind cs. 2 weeks ago they moved everything back out to the floor no limit.

rough guess, i’d say at least half the walmarts in the us are no limit.
