I was intrigued until I saw the select baseball packs will be $20 a piece.

It’s now true gambling configurations, you’ve a better chance to get a proper Insert (like Aurora) or a Gold/Gold Vinyl instead of paying $99 for a Green Ice Prizm :-)

Also you’ll probably be able to get rid of your base at one point if you don’t like them. Panini does a better job now utilizing the cards e.g. the Kaboom challenge will feature only Prizm base going forward.

Quick summary by someone regarding the Panini NFT AMA:

To quickly summarize the AMA:
Crypto/Wallet coming very very soon. Different marketing strategies at play and beginning as well. (Social media marketing, influencers, events, using all platforms and taking advantages of the reach the partners/influencers have. Bringing these NFTs to a public blockchain (opensea for ex) is on the roadmap and work has begun on it. (Gotta get league/partner approvals, etc. will be later in the year at the earliest), API for 3rd parties. Staking cards/sets for rewards, burning, a complete and total overhaul of the website/UI for Panini NFTs, basically a standalone Panini NFT website with a whole new look, ease of access/use, collection features, completion bars for all sets, rewards, user profiles, etc. New leagues/sports coming to NFTs. UFC challenge next week. And probably a couple other things I'm missing.

And a "Thank you" to the community coming with release of Crypto.

I actually like the panini platform. I hate panini as a company, so it seems hard to trust them at times.

Unfortunately about 7 months too late. This should have been the primary focus before the project went live. It's one of the main reasons why Top Shot thrived. They spent so much time pushing a social media and television campaign. Little to no one knows/cares about the Panini blockchain platform (that's been around for years now), and they did very little to raise awareness utilizing the hot NFT catchphrase.

Thank you for the updates though, Pader.

Panini behind the curve? Say it ain't so! Having NFT's to be sold off-site should have been #1 item to do for both Panini as well as TopShot. Both failed miserably.

Probably been my main point in all of this. These aren’t really NFTs if you can only buy and sell on the company platforms.

Hmmm...complete the LaMelo 75th Anniversary Challenge and get the others for "free." Will be interesting to see how many ppl complete these.

I like what they did with the Melo challenge. You can choose to go cheap for the Base or go big for the 75th anniversary one...or somewhere in between. And it also means the cards needed for the challenge go up more in price.

I still like TS platform and NFTs more but when it comes to challenges, if they stick with this model, I think they are better.

Agree, this was a successful move. I’ve seen more offers and competitive bidding than ever.

The only thing that can take these to the next level is if they start offering a rewards system for physical Panini product(s). Which they've done for their blockchain cards since inception, but have somehow decided NFT's should not qualify.

Yet anyone with 2 working eyes can see that nobody would ever drop big money (like Top Shot rare level money) on a Panini virtual card unless it also was accompanied by the physical version later on. The price histories reflect this.

The whole draw of NFT's for the cryptobois is the ability to hit paydirt on a whim. This system currently lacks that. Right now it's just a whole bunch of bass trading and scalping that barely qualifies for minimum wage.

The mint counts on the prizm NFL cards show you all you need to know about panini's motives for this

They see what TopShot got away with and thought, "why not us?"

Yeah they’re usually not gaining a lot of momentum in the Crypto and NFT space, they’re just too slow and use the wrong channels the tech has improved, but it’s still underwhelming..

On the other hand they’re continously listening and are Improving/growing slowly. The good cards hold- and some even increase in value (while base is worthless unless it’s in challenges).
The majority of people in the community are interrestingly people from the cardboard scene and many are hodlers since the prices are still considerably cheap to enter.

All good, dude.

I just don't think the NFT platform is very high on the priority list for them.

It's more of a fun side gig that they never had any intention of pursuing seriously, or at least not to the extent that a dedicated platform like Dapper has. It's a lot easier to pool your funds and resources when that's all you do.

Meanwhile, Panini's still got its hands full with their countless cardboard offerings, including all the other merch that they put out.

Until they add their wallet, their marketplace will be almost unusable for low priced transactions because of the PayPal fees.

Anyone purchase the FOTL Prizm UFC packs yesterday? I saw they were Dutch auction and went to the floor of $100/pack. I picked up one and curiously today still don’t see it in my NFT inventory. Thought it a pretty cool concept to have each pack guarantee a shimmer FOTL parallel /5 or /1.

Anyone buy and know what’s up with them not being in the buyers account yet?

They’ll be airdropped Monday. I bought 2. Allegedly there’s no plans to release the unsold packs (I assume there are quite a few as this was not a great buy even at $100). If that’s true I think that’ll make these much better if you want to hold sealed. Allegedly, pack selling is coming very soon as well. But common theme with Panini is empty promises, so who knows.

Idk it seems those packs were good value at $100. A /5 or /1 guaranteed is pretty big. Guess we will see where sales shake out once they get into wallets tomorrow.

There is probably 300 cards on that checklist and 10-20 desirable names. I still probably would've bought one had I seen they were dropping them. It is odd since I was around the panini website and saw nothing of it in the days leading up to it...

Pack sales and crypto transactions promised upgrades 8 months ago. We'll be at a year this summer. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I should have sold months ago. Now all the subsequent releases with super cheap high end pack prices are devaluing what little value the first releases had.

One of the fundamental mistakes in crypto is believing just because something is cheap, it's a good gamble.

There's more interest in alien twerky peps than Panini NFT's. Bad omen.

Luka NT Logoman sold for 100k! That’s mainly because of the physical still pretty highest recorded sale so far and north of the Kobe Logoman
