PSA Cert #:41819333

1909-11 T206 EPDG Carl Lundgren PSA 2.5 to PSA 6

Sold on 11/17/2017 as a PSA 2.5 by Heritage Auctions to an unknown buyer for $823.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 10/4/2018 as a PSA 6 for $4,700.00
Value gain of $3,877.00!

Here we have another card purchased from Heritage Auctions which ended up sold through PWCC and its grade improved after alterations were undertaken. This card has been chemically washed, which has resulted in reverse staining being eliminated. It has also turned the red ink darker, which seems to be a common side effect of the chemicals used by card doctors. Furthermore, two corners have been altered: the upper right has been sharpened and the upper left has been more uniformly rounded.

This card once again raises the question: who is purchasing these cards through Heritage Auctions, altering them, grading them, and then selling them through PWCC Auctions without disclosing the alterations? Heritage Auctions holds the key to finding out this critical information, whether it is Gary Moser, someone associated with PWCC, or another buyer.

Green rectangles show the two altered corners. Blue circles show the unique paper fibers. This card was sent in by yet another tipster via e-mail. Thank you to him.

PSA Cert #27456692

1938 Goudey Hank Greenberg #253

Value gain of $775.45

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-4.5 on February 04, 2015 for $360.55. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1064647
Same card was sold by PWCC as a PSA-7 for $1,136.00 on September 11, 2017. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1540408

Note from the PWCC PSA-7 listing description: "Extremely tough card to locate in PSA 7."

Yellow circles are print and fiber identifiers.
Red squares around entire front show obvious cleaning and is now much brighter. Don't understand how PSA again and again is incapable of recognizing unnaturally bright and clean 80+ year old cards.

SGC Cert #:8877280

1948 Leaf #3 Babe Ruth SGC 4 to SGC 5.5

Sold on 10/28/2018 as a SGC 4 by Robert Edward Auctions (REA) to an unknown buyer for $1,680.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 5/8/2019 as a SGC 5.5 for $3,356.00
Value gain of $1,676.00!

This card was sold through REA and then given a chemical bath to remove staining on the reverse. However, in the pink rectangle on the front you will see color print stripped and bare paper fibers exposed on the SGC 5.5 that were not stripped off on the SGC 4. This shows that additional damage can be caused by these chemicals. More troubling still, there was a crease in the card that was pressed out, which is visible in the upper-right hand corner on the reverse. We know it was present and removed based on visual evidence, as well as the catalog descriptions of this item:

REA SGC 4: "light creasing visible on the upper right."
PWCC SGC 5.5: "zero creasing or wrinkles present."

Green circles show common surface print blemishes. This card was also sent to me via e-mail tip. There are a lot of collectors behind the scenes now outing these altered cards.

PSA Cert #:41008249

1952 Topps Look 'N See Henry Hudson PSA 5 to PSA 8

Sold on 2/14/2017 as a PSA 5 by Probstein123 to whitman111 (Gary Moser) for $6.56
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 10/29/2018 as a PSA 8 for $275.00
Value gain of $268.44

Here is another trimmed 1952 Topps Look 'N See. The left border is moderately trimmed and the right border is slightly trimmed. The price paid for the PSA 5 compared to the price earned for the PSA 8 is the most surprising aspect of this particular Moser masterpiece.

Green rectangles shows the difference in untrimmed vs. trimmed left border. Red circles are the unique paper fibers and marks.

Good find. 80s stuff is an easy mark for Gary. White borders. Easy fix of issues that can turn a 9 into a 10. And most are probably impossible to trace.

Even in the 9 holder it looks poorly trimmed on the top. It’s sitting flat on the bottom but the left edge is shorter than the right.

PSA Cert #41170461

1959 Topps Harmon Killebrew #515

Value gain of $2,621.60

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-7 on February 08, 2018 for $168.39. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1602792
Same card was sold by PWCC as a PSA-9 for $2,789.99 on August 14, 2018. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1722198

Yellow circles are fiber or print flaw identifiers.
The two areas circled in blue are glares caused by scratches in the slab. I verified this from another photo of the same card in the same slab from an earlier sale from a different seller. I can't find the reason for the grade bump from a 7 to a 9. Odds are that Moser fixed something. The alternative is that PSA graders are incompetent - which has already been proven. I am posting this for either reason due to the $2,600.00+ price jump.

starting to notice on the moser sales through pwcc, when pwcc list their "opinion" it always seems to be about something from the before card which was fixed (corners, colors, creases, etc). It's really like they are rubbing it in big time to their customers.
