I'm not an expert on BGS slabs/subgrades, but even among BGS 9.5s, I guess there's a couple tiers and cards that has all 9.5 subgrades or higher ("True Gems") should nab a premium over a "regular" gem mint 9.5 (which has 1 or 2 9 subs).

I do know that people chasing PSA 10s will target BGS 9.5s with all 9.5 subgrades for their crossover potential. Seen in that light, I can see "true gem" 9.5's selling for more than plain 9.5's.

Back to the main point, I guess it's definitely possible a true gem BGS 9.5 could approach $100k. And if Ohtani keeps doing Ohtani things and his pitching ramps up to 7+ inning starts, even regular 9.5's may soon be hitting $100k.

It's all of the above, but also the consideration that the prices do not have a large sales sample size at this new tier. One sale at 200 or 100 is one thing, but it needs to happen regularly for it to be reliable at that price. The sales velocity is so slow even for his base BCA that it may take a while. Everyone is in hold mode for high end antos and it's hard to blame.

Bowman chrome should be a redemption, normal Bowman is live. Topps Chrome might be redemption also
