I have a question about the autograph playoff sets. Is the auto only in the initial 15 cards, or is there an auto in the subsequent bonus sets that come when teams advance throughout the playoffs?

I assume it’s just in the initial 15, but I’d love to be wrong.

Anyone else receive their replacements for Aquino #693. There were two errors on the first one, no call-up wording on the front and the last name spelled Aquinos on the back. The replacements have the call-up fixed but the last name is still Aquinos. Will we a get a third replacement?

Cardinals Post Season sets are out.
Would've been nice if Goldschmidt was also an auto subject, but with price of $74.99, I also thought it would just be Molina headlining the list.

9/23/2019 Topps Now Today:
150 YoBB So the Nomar is still cheap in this set IMO ($15) so I would suggest that one as I think the set will finish strong and come to an end near the end of the baseball season. I’m still getting these for me and Jack but am only preselling the Art cards as the flippers have totally killed any quick profits on the set. The Ripken looks great and will be a great one autographed. A complete set at eBay prices is around $1300, and that isn’t too bad for a commemorative type set…I think this will be sought after in the future, but flippers will put together sets at the end of the year that you can most likely get for about $5 a card. They do it every time so if you are late to the show on this one it might pay to wait.
I suspect Larkin will print low (not under Nomar but low) and will be a good one to own so pick one up from a flipper who you trust to give you one that is centered.

Bowman Next: Well if you haven’t seen these, they at least look nice. Have I gotten sucked in? YES, OF COURSE I have…wholesale_marketplace4u is the low guy flipping on eBay and you know if he is in the game the card prices will stagnate for months. Other flippers: natalka-hobby, jcoombs2, mel030783, twinsjake, and the #@#@#@#@#@#@#@ that is uptownsports are all selling the card so with ALL the usual suspects in the game the print run will be close to 3000…so unless Topps can catch lighting in a bottle again this is not going to be 2016 Topps Now #1 nor will it be Living #1. If it is and it takes off…look for Gregg Wieder AKA uptownsports /editorgaw to make copies as soon as he runs out. I will say Bowman is crazy popular so it could be the next big thing…but I honestly think as long as Topps cuts out the LCS On-Line cards will get a bad rap from dealers. If they can’t make a buck on it…it is no good and they will scream this from behind their folding tables at every card show across the country until Topps cuts them in.

On that note Topps got word of the club shutting down (from somewhere) and I mentioned some reasons to Jeeves when he reached out. Anyway, some changes are in store for Now in 2020…and I think this might bode well for the program going forward. Nothing to share (yet) but nothing that would entice me to sell Now cards going forward. It’s more about the competition….it’s not that they are so good. It’s more that they are so stupid that they don’t see listing and selling cards at $5 till they are gone is killing this program…and it is basically a losing endeavor for them, but they refuse to look at the numbers. Alas…I digress.

Topps Star Wars Living: Nothing new here…a few flippers keeping prices on new cards low so this is a collect it if you like it set….otherwise AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE! Revisit this in 2020 when / if the idiots who sell these things have decided to start raising their prices.
Okay, going to have a beer and finish this more positively…I seem to be angry.
150 YoBB…Get all the art prints, if you get nothing else from this set these will stand the test of time…like Living but 1/3 the print run and arguably better art.
Bowman Next is a great idea by Topps get yourself one of each of these, it will be a beautiful set and rival Topps Now. I’m collecting and have some on my spreadsheet for sale but listing much higher than my 5 colleagues (and one a$$hole) listed above. I have never been a Bowman fan myself…until Now.

Star Wars Living…yes the people selling this are killing themselves on pricing and whoever is buying their off center white corner cards is getting garbage….I feel for you SW fans. I had to get most all of these replaced, and I am kind of glad to be out of the pre selling of these. It’s stressful. I do suggest buying the BIG NAMES and skipping on these cartoon show characters. The Han Solo card is insanely had to get Mint and it is HARRISON “MF’ing” FORD…the Billy Dee Williams card (#17) is under valued and if you don’t get this week’s Woody Harrelson’s card…you are just a plain fool.

MLB Living: Many know I have closed my buyers club on these and the Now cards at the end of the regular season. Many reasons I am doing this but it’s mostly not cost effective to even sell these for $5 each off of eBay once you add your time and supplies into it, it is a down right money pit…I’ve not stopped collecting / buying ANYTHING by the way. Bought just as many last week without preselling a one and I feel just fine about it. As the folks on my mailing list will see on the spreadsheet, I have last weeks cards for sale (slightly higher than eBay prices) but I grantee centered and without major flaws so I expect a little more. I still love this set but the print runs dropping doesn’t bode well for the higher printed (non-rookie) cards that many are holding. SELL SELL SELL as they say…has been the mantra of the flippers on these but I have seen a slow up tick in some and the one and done of the set (for most guys) seems to be paying dividends. This is a long term hold now…and I still think 1-10 are amazing cards to own in PSA 10 (even though PSA are a bunch of crooks…their registry is the BOMB)…if you can add these cards I would do it now. As for the new low ones….the bottom 11 are all BUY BUY BUY while these clowns selling them are giving them away. Demand centered cards and return the BS to the flippers, these guys have to learn to stop selling crap. Do we have lower to go? Yes, we do…the player selection demands it 2278 is just about right for Piscotty, considering who he is where he plays and that this will be his only card. These cards will get scarcer in Mint condition as the months go on…
All three of this week’s cards are a buy in my book…not because they will print low (they may but I am suspect) but because they will print about 2500 and one is King Felix, the other is a promising rookie and the Wild Horse is just Wild!
Topps Now: FYI…just because I am not pre-selling doesn’t mean I am out of Now. I will ALWAYS be a Now collector, I love the set and the concept, and it doesn’t bother me at all that there are almost as many Alonso cards as home runs the guy has…it’s what the set is about. Yes people cry that this or that got missed and the Mets have too many cards. It is FUN and I LOVE IT…Not going into it too much today but I’m only going deep on one card and it’s not Alonso (I am a Philly fan after all and I think my Phillies are sucking because I bought too many Alonso cards this year)…despite the flippers who are absolutely destroying the card prices with the list and forget mentality 2019 cards as a whole are doing VERY VERY well. I’ve not sold one for over $1000 yet but $100…sure been there and done that so you hater’s on Blowout (I will post this to blowout as I’ve been away too long) the program is far from dead and actually doing very well. Suggested buys are any of the under 200 print run cards the flippers keep listed at under $10. You can pick and chose but once these guys are out (as Dan S calls it “Flipped Out”) the prices rise and there is profit for the strong hands who held.

This set originally had a Matt Carpenter auto card instead of Molina but thanks to Joe, he was able to convince Topps that us collectors would like for them to change it. And they changed it to Yadi. Nicely done Joe and Jeeves!

I think this was possibly a one-off willingness to change it since Matt Carpenter obviously had a really, really bad season. Chris Davis-bad bad. And they had a subject they could change it to without affecting the price. All of this paragraph is pure speculation on my part.

EDIT: I would have loved Edman as the change but Yadi was a great choice. Maybe they don't have a contract yet for Edman but I hope they get one for next year (or for the WS set if we get lucky).

As I understand it, if they were 2 separate 6-game winning streaks, yes. A 12-game winning streak does NOT constitute two cards. At least, that's how I understand it. I might be totally wrong.
