PSA Cert #41159987 - Population 1 of 1

1958 Topps Robin Roberts #90

Value gain of $5,602.00

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-9 on February 08, 2018 for $1,088.00. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1602502
Same card was sold by PWCC as a PSA-10 for $6,690.00 on December 05, 2018. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1882821

Yellow circles are print and fiber identifiers.
Red squares identify possible color addition. I can't verify it and it is also possible that it is scanning glare. Otherwise I cannot determine from the images what was done that caused a grade bump to the only PSA-10 in existence. Either Moser fixed something or PSA is incompetent/inconsistent in analyzing the condition of cards. Or likely both.

PSA Cert #40751277

1957 Topps Johnny Unitas RC #138

Value gain of $938.01

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-6 on December 18, 2017 for $836.99. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1593810

Yellow circles are print and fiber identifiers.
Red squares identify color work on two printing spots. *These two blue marks are common print flaws on many Unitas rookie cards.

At this point, doesn't PSA have to suspend the Set Registry for '48 Leaf Football, '52 Look 'n See, and '53 Parkhurst? The entire registry has been compromised for those sets.

PSA Cert #40751246

1969 Topps Brooks Robinson #550

Value gain of $2,447.29

This card was purchased by whitman111 (Gary Moser) from PWCC as a PSA-9 on November 15, 2017 for $158.27. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1575270
Same card was sold by PWCC as a PSA-10 for $2,605.56 on June 14, 2018. PWCC Marketplace link: https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1672434

Yellow circles are print and fiber identifiers.
Red squares identify the darkened sleeve. Moser has added color to dark areas before so this could be the area that was improved to bring the card to a 10. The alternative is that PSA is inconsistent in their ability to accurately grade cards. Posted because one of these occurred.

If there's one thing (okay, there's like 30 things) that I've taken away from all this is how much value PSA places on a card's print job when determining the card's grade.

For years, we've seen people bash PSA by posting comparison scans of two cards in different PSA grades that seemingly have the same quality centering and corners and then spout "grading is a scam! these are the same condition!"

But what we've seen over and over in this thread are cards getting bumped because their print jobs have been artificially improved. Even one card went from a 9 to a 10 just because it had some black border areas on its back recolored.

It's become clear to me that PSA has been absolutely factoring in a card's print job while the common submitter has been paying the least bit attention to it.

Agreed, similar story on adding some black coloring to the 1958 Jim Browns.

Just went to get some autographed baseballs authenticated by PSA at a Marriot Hotel here in Las Vegas. I asked the PSA guy about the trimming scandal and he said the federal government is getting involved. He said graders take minutes to grade vintage and way less to grade modern. So if they are taking multiple minutes to grade vintage, how are they not catching these trimmed cards? He did not have an answer. Apparently PSA has security cameras everywhere in their facility, whatever that means. And graders do not know which person’s order they’re grading. Hopefully this is some helpful information.

I think the graders know it's a PWCC order, but technically can say they don't know who submitted the cards to PWCC. The cards were passed through quickly and with a blind eye due to their business relationship that seems not to exist any longer. PWCC took advantage of PSA's trust. I think this is the only logical explanation that -somewhat- helps PSA.
