PSA 8 1986 MJ rookie - cannot save for a PSA 9. Has to be a PSA 8
PSA 9 Bron rookie - If things line up right, possibly can save up for a PSA 10.

Been window shopping for too damn long at home and this is just the latest iteration of my many questions to myself.

Didn't want to make a new MJ thread - hope OP does not mind the small question.

I wish!. I have had many cards I want in this same predicament over the past few weeks and all for nothing. Just window shopping. Figured since this was MJ related I would ask you fine folks to see what you would do.

Plenty of affordable and cool LeBron RCs to grab that scratch that itch. The LeChrome is the most expensive base and the most plentiful.

i think the psa 10 lebron is gonna be the centerpiece card for this generation. under 2000 copies. say it tops out at 2500. the demand for this card should be crazy once the generation growing up watching him has money

Not saying your are wrong. You aren't . I'm pretty sure it is already "that card". Just some numbers to digest.

There's a lot of them. Not compared to a Luka Prizm of course. Just compared to every other LeBron RC aside to maybe paper Topps.

I'm not suggesting that any other base LeBron rookie will catch it or even come close. I do believe though that from a percentage standpoint, upside on some of his other rookies makes for a better buy in the moment.

Just the one Jordan RC. No SPA, Ult Col, or Exquisite to be its better. No Finite or Skybox LE that probably should be better and may yet be.

I too would vote for the Jordan in an 8. Less and less higher grade copies will be around in the coming years for one reason or another. I can see the LeBron Chrome being fairly available in the next 5 years so getting one later would be more easily attainable. Some who just buy Jordan RC based on the documentary alone will lock them away for their kids and never sell.

I think one big caveat would be in LBJ wins another title, then another large spike in demand and pricing will happen. Probably not this year tough based on the unlikely event we have NBA again this season.....

$3,299 today. Is this year the one with the most HOF players in it? I have not looked into other 1980 boxes. If so and this hype remains after TLD, this box can shoot up a lot more IMO.

If you count many of them having three different cards (base, All-Star and Sticker) then it isn't close. Jabbar's final card. Dr. J the only one in 87 that isn't in 88.

That there is the part I don't understand. Lebron Optic holo's for hundreds, some ungraded Jordan base for $20-$80, who in their right mind is scooping them up? Gary Vee? I can understand the sweet 90's inserts, whether they are truly rare or not, definitely tough to gem and they look sweet. I'd love to know who the 10-25 people are who are buying up all these cards...
