It’s not disrespecting raleigh. It’s disrespecting the yahoo’s that think a dude batting .250ish deserves the mvp over another guy who is most clearly having a vastly superior offensive season.

Judge is still the favorite don’t think any one is arguing that but the gap has closed significantly as of today Vegas has is -180 judge +140 cal. War gap has closed significantly as well. To say he has no chance is naive. If a cal hits 55 plus hrs as a catcher and leads his team to their first division title in over 20 years he’s gonna have a chance

Still a lot of games left, and there is no guarantee that Judge's numbers hold up on the current trajectory he is on.

If Yankees miss the postseason and Seattle makes it Cal wins MVP for sure.

Prior to the last few games, Raleigh had actually been slumping at the plate since mid July. But if he can stay hot and lead his team to a division title, he could absolutely win the MVP. The Mariners haven't won their division since their historic 2001 season. Raleigh is having a historic season for a catcher.
Judge needs to get back to putting up MVP numbers and carrying his team on his back, or he could lose the MVP race. At this point, Judge has the better numbers between the two, but that gap is gradually shrinking. |

For those making "bets" on the AL MVP race:
Odds are Judge gets a second wind and finishes strong, while Raleigh does fairly well but not at the level he did in the first half. That leaves Judge the likely MVP choice, as his numbers are significantly better and he's clearly the better player. The x-factor is Judge's health, though. |

Now back to cal hope cal can keep it up and break some records along the way. 3 more for most HRs by a catcher in a season 10 more for most homeruns by a switch hitter in a season and if he got hot 17 to tie judge. Think cals on pace for 61

The fact that he got back on the field hitting again and is now throwing again probably means he'll be fine going forward. Otherwise, I don't think the Yankees would risk Judge re-injuring or aggravating his arm injury by having him throw again so soon. |

At the end of the day, people are going to see this as a fluke season for Cal, like Salvy's 48 home runs in in 2021 or Brady Anderson's 50 home runs in 1996, if he doesn't back it up with more great power seasons.

Yes, Giancarlo is a better fit at DH, but you've got to adjust to whatever's in front of you -- it's more important to keep your best player and reigning MVP hitting. |

Yeah maybe but we don’t know that yet. What we do know is cal has increased his Hr totals every year and that Cals floor is 30 bombs that’s great for a catcher

Please don’t turn this into a Judge/Yankees thread, there are several dedicated for that. Thanks
