Brock Purdy 2.0 Thread; New, Hopefully Improved

After an internal investigation and review, I’m self imposing a ban on posting within any Brock Purdy thread due to temper tantrums and to prevent oneself from saying something well beyond the scope of this thread and message board.

This self imposed ban will last until the 49’ers & Purdy win consecutive games. This ban will allow time for self reflection and to seek help within other threads beside Purdy’s. After the 49’ers and Purdy win consecutive games a comprehensive review will then be initiated in order to see if oneself is a viable candidate to return to the Purdy threads.

The INTs the last two games have been very JG like. As I said in the Niners thread they can still win because Purdy is getting paid $24M less than JG was, so presumably they’ve allocated that money elsewhere to make other parts of the team better. But the high priced talent is not performing right now.
If he plays poorly against Cincy and the Niners fall to 5-3 you’d imagine there will be a precipitous drop in prices over the next two weeks with the Niners bye.

Could very well happen. Shanahan thinks this is a SB team and if he thinks Darnold will help accomplish that, he won’t hesitate.

Are you guys smoking something? Purdy is NOT coming out because of a couple picks over 2 games. Let's not forget he's also playing with no Samuel, and he had no CMC for most of last game playing a hell of a defense, and guess what, if the kicker makes the kick last week they win. Purdy is not getting yanked for Darnell barring an injury or a monumental collapse

You are making up whatever fits your narrative. I felt the original Purdy thread was pretty darn hyped until you came around and became argumentative from day one. Purdy literally saved 2022 football products, so trying to sell this narrative that there was a mound of doubt and you somehow succeeded by going against the grain on your "call" is absolute nonsense.

Thankfully I've worked in mental health for 15 years and I've seen your type before. NPD is one of the hardest mental illnesses to treat and it most definitely won't be cured on a message board. I would agree with others who decide to simply not engage with you because it won't go anywhere. I feel bad that you have to live with this but I'm sorry to say I cannot help either.

Probably depends on the timing of how it plays out. If it’s like last night, I doubt they put Darnold in. Purdy’s INTs last night both came with less than 6 minutes left in the game, he was OK up until that point.
Niners first 6 drives last night went CMC fumble, missed FG, TD, Punt, TD, FG.
So even though those two back breaking INTs were on him, there wasn’t really an opportunity to bring in Darnold.
But if he starts off bad, and the Niners trail, I could absolutely see Shanahan making a desperation switch.

I'm not. Kyle is not a patient guy. The Niners have to be tired of playing bridesmaid. If Purdy lays three eggs in a row, he might be in trouble.

You don't always get to work in optimal conditions. Still have to win. That's the way it works.

He only threw for 125 yards with one TD and an interception against the Browns. The kid had a passer rating of 55 that game.

Two picks last night, with the game ender he tossed at the end. He is now 0-2, with 3 picks in his last 2 games, and averaging under 200 yards per game.

Maybe he got figured out? A lot of one hit wonder QBs over the years. Is he the next Tom Brady or the next Jay Fiedler, Rob Johnson, Rick Mirer, Scott Mitchell, Tommy Maddux, Derek Anderson ETC

Possibly... but week to week he's either the next Brady or absolute garbage based on people's hot takes here. This place, including me, all like to boldly predict the future and not always based on facts, almost always emotion.

I like him, but I've always been aware of what he's not. And he still has less than a full season under his belt.

Maybe we all put away the crystal balls for a moment? I know it's less exciting, but just a thought.
