Don't think PR sent this searched case intentionally just as an FU statement but do find it fascinating that searched boxes are at his location (searched meaning boxes with autos pulled are set off to side)

Did you ever send a text message to wrong person where you ripped on that person?
Afterwards, you were like---- holy crap! Did I just get busted?

Think same thing here. PR just realized someone on his team sent wrong case out by error

The label has Will's signature. He shipped it.

That being said, I have a hard time understanding how you can back Will unequivocally without truly knowing the man. He shipped a light case, for motives unknown. Perhaps it was an error, perhaps it was intentional but Will is scum, so he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.
You love to jump in these threads and attack people when you see they are down.

You call Will scum in a thread where he is being attacked because you feel safe knowing he is persona non grata.

You did the exact same thing last year in the MikeC thread. Once someone is attacked you jump in calling them names.

It isn't about you.

I have posted what I thought was honest and fair. Whether for PR or against it was not on my agenda. If people don't like your honest response, they try to vilify you. It's fine. The pattern is there for anyone to see.

Ok then Will sent it.

However same feeling as when you realized you sent bad text to wrong person.

Will probably sitting there like "crap, can't believe I sent that searched box by error"

Not at all what he said. He has admitted no fault here.

8. There is no question in my mind right now that the op is telling the truth. NONE. However, I also stand behind point #1.

Ok, then why isn't Will/prospectrush banned if the op is telling the truth?? He proved that the cases were significantly lighter and the case was obviously searched... Sounds like a scam to me. You keep reminding us that prospect rush IS a member, so isn't that against the rules?

This is what you don't seem to understand Daryl. This forum is made up of members, both good and bad. You say I jumped into the Mike C thread from two years ago (happy to point out your error, it's OK, shows you're human) and I most certainly did. He was not a person non grata, he was someone that tried to scam someone else, point blank. And when he showed his character, I felt justified in discussing my questionable personal experiences with him ... to show yet again, his questionable character.

I have great personal experience with Will, who tried to scam a good friend of mine and an upstanding member of this forum for $10,000 just a few months before Prospect Rush. I intervened at the 11th hour to prevent that from happening, but as you can guess, I think he's the lowest of low.

I feel safe calling Will scum because I know from first hand experience, he is scum. You are completely out of line. I attack people when they deserved to be called out for their behavior. You are no different.

I can't help but think that any other member would be at least suspended by now in this case

This isn't, wasn't my story to tell. But seeing as it could add a lot of context, I asked permission to tell it, and it was granted.

In February of this year, a good friend of mine and a good member of this forum was moving, and wanted to sell his entire collection as he didn't want to log it with him (dozens of 5,000 ct boxes, a ton of slabs). Moving, wife didn't want the cards in their new place ... he looked to sell everything in one lot. Unfortunately, I recommended to him Will because I knew he had the capital; (even though we didn't see eye to eye on the forum most times).

So they connected and a deal was struck for ~$25,000. My friend would drive to Canada and deliver the cards, Will would pay him $6,300 immediately, and the rest in a few payments over the course of a month or two (they set this up, I was not involved). Before the deal was done, a spreadsheet with all cards and all estimated value was sent over (for the slabs) and a general number was offered for everything else. Will saw every card being sent in the lot.

Will paid the $6,300, cards were picked up; my friend began his move. A week passed, and Will reached back out to him saying that he doesn't see the value in this lot, and told him that he's not paying $25,000. He wants a $10,000 discount, doesn't think the value is there. This of course was done after agreeing to the deal, seeing values my friend had estimated on the cards etc. Extremely upset because he was almost done moving and couldn't take the cards back, my friend told me what happened. Either agree to the new terms or else really, because Will had all the cards and had only paid $6,300. As there was no way I could let Will do this to him, I told my friend to drive back up, get the cards back, cancel the deal, and I will do my best to hold them, get them listed, organized and sell them for him. So, he made the trip back, took back all of his stuff, and I paid Will the $6,300 he gave my friend (which was used for the new place, moving expenses etc. so he couldn't pay Will back immediately). Six more hours out of his way, my friend met me about 90 minutes from my house, and I took possession of his collection.

Knowing my friend was between a rock and a hard place, Will tried to take advantage of him ... and I felt terrible if for nothing else than I suggested his name as a potential buyer.

That's Will Sherrer. Tried to twist a $10,000 "discount" out of another member of this forum.

I remember before PR released, Will was always here talking and screaming about transparency from the mountain tops. The list of red flags since then is kinda scary

Didn't you have a story about MikeC scamming... but only after he was destroyed in a thread?

Seems you have horrible luck of being scammed or having friends scammed prior to someone being attacked in a thread but you only deem it worth mentioning after that person had their reputation destroyed and no one would believe them if they tried to defend themselves.

Sending a searched case and then offering to send a replacement next day?

Brutal. The red flag for me would have been the partial payment and payments over two months. So basically he is another greedy person in this hobby, and we really shouldn't be afraid to assume that he is a con artist.

That's your takeaway? Rather than see the guy you backed, and the product you peddled, you want to attack my character, and suggest some ulterior motive?

When you deal with hundreds of different members, in a thousand transactions, you're bound to run into a couple of bad eggs. Again, this didn't happen to me (although I've been selling more Eddie Butlers and Chris Archers than I ever dreamed of) so it wasn't my story to tell. But as you've backed me into a corner to suggest I target good people because others have already started; I felt it necessary to defend my words.

So you go right ahead and give this guy the benefit of the doubt. If you need the text messages from Raidersfan1983, he kept them, and will be happy to provide.

So, is this scammer now officially banned or what? Backing out of a $25,000 deal when the other party didn't have the funds to pay him back and was up a creek? Good enough?

From a guy who paid cash for the Kris Bryant 2 months later. Ridiculous it was.

I guess Will collects serched boxes...I'm sure he didn't include those packs in prospect rush or dare I say, pretend like it's a sealed case. The next "winner" will be thrilled when he opens his packs and finds no autos. I'm sure that's good for the site/hobby. It's funny that a "fake" longoria card is wayyyy toooo far though.

Heh.

And to those that say why didn't I voice this earlier and protect the population from prospect rush. I offer two points.

(1) I tried. I was in the prospect rush thread, showing members what to expect in the breaks, the return, the questions etc. The product had already gotten off to a big start, everyone was pretty stoked and based on the fact that BO was a backer, I did what I could not to inform everyone that this might not be awesome. I showed a breakdown, estimates, and it was a BIG loss. But to scream murder when I'm on a forum which is owned by someone trying to sell it ... tread lightly.

(2) I felt wrong in airing the laundry of another member. I approached the subject with him a couple of times, and he washed his hands of the situation. But this topic, with a mod blindly backing a member of what I know to be poor character, then calling into question mine ... something needed to be said.

I posted my takeaway. It hasn't changed.

Your character is what it is - you are the only person who can be responsible for it.

I didn't say you target good people - only you have said that - I specifically said you target people who have a limited ability to defend themselves.

If raidersfan1983 wants to post about a $25k deal in this section and request PR be banned, he can do so. The suggestion that it happen based on your secondhand post is incredulous.

I certainly trust raidersfan1983's word. I would take anything he said very seriously.
