Yes Bernie does extremely well with 18-45, but unlike your claim it isnt solely or primarily from loan forgiveness. Why did he have about the same support from the younger generations in 2016 when he never suggested it in 2016? He suggested it in June 2019.
I did look and there wasn't much for 2020.

He’s outpolling every D in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Those are the key states right now and the 3 that gave Trump the election. He’s also outpolling Trump in those 3, but to be fair Biden is as well.

Barack Obama ended his presidency having granted clemency to more people convicted of federal crimes than any chief executive in 64 years. But he also received far more requests for clemency than any U.S. president on record, largely as a result of an initiative set up by his administration to shorten prison terms for nonviolent federal inmates convicted of drug crimes.

Obama’s record, however, looks far less forgiving when considering the number of requests for clemency that he received. In fiscal 2016 alone, he received 12,026 such requests, by far the most in any single year on record. Over the full course of his tenure, Obama received 36,544 petitions for clemency – a figure that exceeds the total of the previous nine presidents combined.

...

Looking at the same data another way, Obama granted clemency to only 5% of those who requested it. That’s not especially unusual among recent presidents, who have tended to use their clemency power sparingly. But it’s near the bottom when considering all chief executives since 1900, the earliest year for which DOJ has published statistics. Truman, for example, granted clemency for 41% of the petitions he received; William Howard Taft and Wilson did so for 39% and 38%, respectively.

Agreed. This won’t be like 1984 in terms of electoral votes because so many people hate Trump. Bernie will win CA IL MA and a few others. But he won’t win MI WI and maybe not even PA. And like you said, big gains in the house and senate. This will be good for the country as a whole because the Democrats could finally marginalize the far left voices in the party.

I wish Houdini would let him stay but just quarantined in this thread.

Sure, all his stuff was worthless and ill-conceived, but chez and rman are also in here. Plus, he says he’s on the straight and narrow so I’m sure he won’t go posting threats again.

I love that word "quarantined."

It just fits in terms of this thread.

Less than ten posts in and already posting gifs in the politics thread? That doesn't scream PBM.

Went on Twitter this morning to see Fidel Castro trending. Apparently Bernie said something about how great of a leader he was?

What really gets me tho is all the 20 something white Bernie Bros who grew up in the suburbs telling native Cubans they've been brainwashed and how to feel about Castro. Such an incredibly toxic group of people.

There’s a reason that people in Miami were banging pots and pans in the streets after he died.

Miami HATES people who say good things about commies. Ozzie Guillen got fired for it. People said the Dolphins should sign Kap but that would never because the Cubans would (rightfully) protest him because he loves Castro

One of the first things Castro did in office was throw all the gays into concentration camps

This is not a man we should be celebrating

I hate Bloomberg but if it’s Sanders vs Bloomberg, I’m voting Bloomberg 1000% of the time

Sanders reminds me a bit of Trump in 2016. Complete panic from the party they represent, people finding all sorts of reasons they have no chance to win, completely ignoring the competitive #'s they are putting up in polls. Generally I would agree with much of the conversation about Sanders BUT I think people are underestimating how much a large portion of the population dislike Trump. Trump's approval #'s continue to be very blah, especially considering the economy which is the only thing he ranks above average on....and that economy is about to take a significant hit with the coronavirus situation. Sanders could also make a splash with a strong VP choice. This is coming down to 3 or 4 states regardless of who is on the ticket for the Dems.
