Be sure and set up your automated response when in vacation mode. That way every time a clown like this sends you a message, they will get one right back. Mine currently says;

Quote:
I will be away from Friday, August 30 through Tuesday, September 3. Response time will be slow. Please allow 48 hours. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, September 4th.

A buyer bought a card in the middle of my vacation and immediately messages me about when his card will ship. He messaged every hour (I didnt find that out until I had service 1 1/2 days later). By the time I could respond to him, from a port on my cruise vacation, he was demanding a refund and couldn't understand that he bought a card while my store was on vacation, even when I told him to check the date in his email from eBay of when his card would ship. Anyway, I refunded him and now he left this negative:

"Don't buy from this guy huge lack of communication and thinks he has some right to close his store for no reason he will take your money and rip you off when you pay for something online it should be a law that it needs to ship within 24 hours EBAY please ban this SOB"

This should be an easy feedback removal, right?

Since some of you may ask, and I recommend blocking him, his eBay ID is hatsmc-0

Edited to add: Not that it matters, but it was a $1.85 sale.

So just want to bag you on this one question Who takes a cruise during HURRICANE SEASON. I live in SE VA so I seem to know the Season is Late June to Early November. Just saying as a Retired QM/Navigator in the Navy we dreaded this time of year. Having to get underway in just a few days to dodge hurricanes sucked.

I worry more about late August through September in the Caribbean area, but that being said, the weather was really nice.

I imagine prices are a lot cheaper if you’re willing to take the risk?

You’d have to buy the travel insurance (unless that isn’t an option).

Well that is an option you do not get your time and effort back especially if you took time off from work.

Definitely not cheaper since we booked Royal Caribbean's newest and biggest ship.

Sales for August were up but so were listings for me.

Starting really to get in motion of slogging through my death piles and getting things listed or tossed

Had a really good August, compared to June and Nuly. Mostly due to getting some PSA subs back. Lots of football in there.

August beat June and July combine for money. I had four $100+ days Which beat out the last 3 months combined. I was able to get my total listings above 3700 and maintain will push for inventory of 3800-3900 for this month. Still grieving the loss of our dog from 4 weeks ago, but we are coping. Getting more football listed and baseball will be secondary for September. The last 2 Septembers have been ugly so lets see if we can do better.

Holidays suck. Lol.

Another holiday that was great. Yesterday was almost a 300.00 day which makes it my biggest since I reset

The holiday weekend was awesome. I don't have a ton of volume on ebay, like just a little over 200 cards at a time, but I sold around 20 cards on the weekend and a few mega boxes. Sold a bunch of other stuff from our garage clean out really quickly. People were looking to buy this weekend!

My weekend 3 day total barely eclipsed my low target goal for one day after having a $2500 week. Dropped off a cliff for me.

My August sales by percentage had the highest USPS Ground Advantage Mailings versus ESE this year.

This Labor Day weekend I had a steady stream of sales also for a total of 26 mail outs today and will have as of now another 11 for tomorrow. That number of mail outs will surpass the first nine days of August.

Is there a way to set an automated message after someone purchases a card? I would like to plug my combined shipping and other discounts I am running if possible

Auctiva does that. As a buyer, I absolutely hate it, but it is available.

Something I just saw that I find interesting. I sold almost the same amount via Seller Offer as I did with buyers making an offer to me. I guess that it might be telling me that sending offers as often as I do is working.

Yeah I have had good luck with that. I usually send a blanket 10-15% if listings have been sitting for a few days

I send offers all the time. sub-$3.00 is an automatic 5%. Anything $3 or more is 10%. I'll up it to 15-20% depending on how long I've had the card.

Wish it always worked out. Just had a guy ask me to sell a Plate Auto of a MLB 2nd Rnd Pick from this years draft after I have a 5% sale plus sent offer of another 20% off to sell it to him for under $20 for a 55% off total. Then he proceeds to tell me he cannot pay more than that for a prospect plate auto.

I guess thats a him problem.

Definitely sounds like a him problem. Any time I have a watcher I send an offer. The conversion % is low, but I'm selling cards that would sit, for God knows how long, and maybe sell at full sticker, or just continue to sit. Sometimes I send offers and don't get a response and then one day I look and I sold the card at full ask. Weird world.

I was offering free shipping, but recently I upped it to $0.30. I'm still in the "free shipping" mindset, so when I sell a $2.99 card for $2.69, I still look at it like I got my asking price.
