to follow up on my maths comments regarding short printing i propose the following categories: (3 LARGE groups and each is broken down further....)

SHORT PRINTS
--------------
Super Short Prints (pr below 1500) 21 cards
Limited Prints (1500 -> 2300) 14 cards
Quarter Prints (2300 -> 3000) 15 cards
Half Prints ( 3000 -> 7500) 13 cards

REGULAR PRINTS
--------------------
Full (or Standard) Prints (7500 -> 12500) 18 cards
Plus Prints (12500 -> 17k) 5 cards

SUPER PRINTS
-----------------
Double Prints (17k -> 25k) 6 cards
Triple Prints (25k -> 35k) 6 cards
quad prints (35k -> 45k) 3 cards
super duper prints ( > 45k) 4 cards

Rationale:

I mapped out all 106 known print runs and ordered them from lowest to highest. I knew we wanted 10k to be the norm for a regular print. I then looked for natural gaps and breaks in the print run order. In other words, if there were 2 print runs that were close together, say mays efdot 1480 and mays thiele 1464, that would NOT be a good place to have them in separate categories. However, there is a nice break from mays efdot (and rochester thomas) at 1480 to the next higher print run of mays jk5 at 1556. So 1500 felt like a good break.

I named them so that the abbreviations would all be unique...whether using the 3 course groups, or the 10 finer groupings.

I wanted the ranges to be roughly symmetrical around a center point...and i wanted the cutoffs to be nice round numbers.

Some of these differences aren't particularly relevant...does it really matter if a card is a plus print vs. regular print? or a quad vs. super? probably not.
