i honestly believe that Sho now treats the regular season as a season long exhibition with the opportunity to try out things.

He knows the chances of the dodgers ever not making the post season is nil

he did plenty last season and now wants to better himself is other areas of the game.

Is his pitching still a net + for his MVP candidacy?

I mean it was prior to last night. Chalk it up to a fluky bad night in high-altitude Denver for the time being.

I understand how thin air can result in balls going out of the park. How does it impact pitching? Ball doesn’t move as much for batters?

How do we know if someone is a good pitcher nowadays? Is it strikeouts?

If Sho could strike himself out, would that make him a great pitcher but still a great hitter?

That’s it exactly, which is why the Nomo no hitter is still crazy!

The lower air density makes breaking pitches less effective as there is less friction. Less so on hard, straight stuff but it also keeps backspin down a bit.

I believe his market is up roughly ~17% since then. That means ~$8,840ish

Edit: call it an even $8,900.

I think this brings up an interesting question. Would you rather have a US1 SSP batting PSA10 or a 2018 RC on card autograph raw or PSA9 (that would be cheaper in price)? Seem like on card RC auto (no matter what topps product) will be more sought after in the future since Ohtani does not use that style of signature anymore.

Spoken to a dozen+ people that know nothing about cards but are rabid for ANY on-card Sho rookie auto as their collection centerpiece.

If I already had several 2018 on-card autos, I would probably lean towards the SSP. But if I didn't own an '18 on-card auto yet, for sure I'd go with one of those.

Good question. The batting is POP 91...yet seems very desirable. For autos it depends on the set. I would not be into Gypsy Queen or Stadium Club or Topps Triple Threads autos. For a PSA 9 auto I want a top tier set. And ya it's crazy how many different signatures this guy has!
