It is more similar than different. But the old platforms(ebay) just takes longer for each "cycle". Many buyers on ebay buy and sell using funds in paypal from items sold to buy again on ebay.

$17millions in sales last 24 hours. This will only get bigger and bigger.

Not advice to join. Just my opinion being involved on both platforms. Same difference, just TS is 100x faster .

Well the true sales on eBay could also just be trading volume as well. I sell 2 Zion card for $1K and buy a Lebron for $1K. That’s $2K sales but $1K cash.

Is there a way to see the differential of “new” vs “recycled” money on NBATS? Can anybody tell how much money is held in Dapper accounts?

To date TS is at $112M in sales. Ken Goldin is projecting $200M for the year through his auction house. The money is flowing through TS right now, even as the Hobby goes through the biggest boom in its 100 year history.

I’ve laid out why I think TS is lame, but there’s no denying that financially they are destroying the Hobby right now and it’s not even close.

Thursday I sold a Luka for $49.
So I set my other one at a stupid price no one would pay.
Wrong. Sold last night. Initial $18 investment is now $7,140 in Dapper dolla billz. With another 4.5k in inventory currently including Lebron /7500. I had that one listed for $2323.00 but took it down bc I’m afraid it might actually sell for that
This is the weirdest ride I’ve been in in a long time.

Pack 17 with 5,000 available still just sitting there. No release time yet. 5K packs is not even a blip. But free cash to whoever wins the lottery.

Anyone else HODLing sealed wax, might be dumb but viewing this the same as physical cardboard products.

The unknown always sells for more than the known. Now we just gotta wait for them to enable selling packs on the marketplace.

I’m not anti TS just saying it’s not quite comparing apples to apples.

The daily trading volume on the Nasdaq appears about equal to the annual total merchandise sold by Amazon. Just two different metrics

Are you able to gift a pack so that you can sell off market?

Basically all depends on the the player. If the NBPA has the image rights, Top Shot can use it.

Imagine them releasing:

-Any MJ highlight
-Any Kobe highlight
-Any Vince Carter dunk from 2000
-Iverson practice rant
-Sheed "Both Teams Played Hard"
-J Will elbow pass to Raef

What could be...

I mean they said in their office hours that March is the timeline to have readily available packs, it's either going to go nuclear or fall apart.

Not sure, about that. I know you can gift moments but that would require you trust the seller to open the pack and send you the correct cards. Or have them livestream your pack opening.

I do wonder how MJ's likeness is held, I believe he own's his rights not the NBA so they'd have to come to an agreement with MJ. Kobe, I'd assume they wouldn't have to but they'd likely ask Vanessa for permission. VC is fair game, Iverson is fair game, J-Will is fair game.

Upper Deck has Jordan's rights still, so if he's included in TopShot...UD is also getting a cut.

UD owns his card rights, MJ owns his likeness

Yes, but not in an NBA uniform....UD would still be getting a cut if he was included (and Panini would definitely raise a stink).

I assume Panini if they were smart would bridge a collaboration with Top Shot, or potentially already have so that would likely not be in the cards.

Just bought my first Moment! Gonna just try it out for a bit and see what the hype is all about.

How difficult is it to buy packs when they’re dropped?

Impossible 😆.
I’ve bought one $9 pack. I haven’t purchased any moments. I’m low low end on the dapper balance with $421...

My advice right now is to get money out of all Series 2. Market is over the insane hype and prices are likely where they will be. The risks I would take on series 2 now are the borderline all star selections like Sabonis, Middleton, Randle, VanVleet, etc... This could be a short term boom.

IMO there is a real steal out there. There is a certain NBA All-Star that has a combined 5297 LE's for his cards and you can get one for $500. I wish I had more funds to get another one. Until more packs come out putting your dapper money into series 1 is the way to go!

$17M of marketplace volume in one day is crazy. I'm a noted skeptic... but that is a HUGE number.

Grade - how do I check the value of my portfolio based on lowest ask? You used to post those screenshots constantly, but I haven't figured out how to do that.

https://evaluate.market/

This is the best tool I’ve found for data.

The Top 25 users have a market cap of ~$167M and own ~195K moments.

Obviously not a market cap but fun data.

With this next drop of 5000 packs, your odds are probably lower than 5% at this point. But I will stress that everyone has an equal chance at a pack. It’s not first come first serve. My guess is the average $9 pack will bring back at least $500. Some will be absolute duds and some will be loaded.

Good luck all.
