Believe PSA looks more at corners and less on centering, but with them not accepting crossovers any longer I would away from BGS unless you are going to crack it out. Wait for the 8’s to hit around $10-12k and find a nice one. Couple of 9’s have dropped below $50k floor with one just selling for $47k this morning.

I honestly would grab the BGS, you can get a better price and there is a lower pop report!!

I have to 100% agree with you about looking at the centering of the card first.Almost all buyers of this card looks at the centering first, so see which has the better centering and if it is the BGS, I would buy that one in a heartbeat, if its PSA, then go with that one. With the BGS card though, you will probably save some money, although BGS Jordan's still sell for a premium/ especially around 6 to 8 grades (too many PSA 6 to 8's for sale right now, because they have the highest pop report of all grades by any grading company), PSA 7's and 8's have absolutely flooded the market at the moment and sadly, their prices have really declined over the past 3 weeks. Sellers need to hold onto them or put them at a near spike buy it now price and just wait. I really hope the trend will turn back around and they start going back up, but simply too many of the PSA 7's and 8's for sale day after day!

time to get this thread up and rolling again, goldin's psa 10's are both at 600k up from the last sale of heritage. this should start bringing all grades up again...lets see if fireworks erupt again tomorrow nite when the auction is over, can we hit 700k again?.....great time to be a Jordan card owner....I personally believe the card has officially become a 500k plus card....

First one is definitely the stronger of the two, and both have a decent amount of snow for my liking on a PSA 10. Much stronger than the last two 10’s, but the edges on the upper right side in the blue area would keep me away as a buyer. That and how it sits in the holder - big gap on the lower left side and would want to see it in person first. Anything in the $500k range these days is a good deal for now with 8’s in the $14-15k and 9’s in the low $50’s.

When ever attending a card show I remember I would see five to ten copies of the psa 10 57. Moving forward unless it is one of the auction house Booths I highly doubt this will be the case. Same goes for a lot of the mantles and all these other cards trending over 100k. Which obviously will only make demand increase and prices continue to escalate... snow ball is rolling now and the Boulder is forming...

had some time to kill this am before the scheriville, IN card show started
so I visited bbce AND a little shop 10 minutes away.

the guy has had a brick and mortar store for 30 years. (5 different locations)

he told me in 1986/1987 he and a buddy would buy boxes and boxes of 1986 fleer basketball for $9 A BOX because they could put together 3 compete sets and sell for $9 each, or $27.

they were tripling their money and thought they were killing it !!!

INSANE !!!

#57 seems to be slightly trending upwards again across all grades on Ebay at the moment.

It will always be the most iconic basketball card of all-time. Unless there is a complete economic collapse, it will always trend up over time.

Was looking forward to seeing what the two PSA 10s did tonight until Goldin's site crapped the bed.

Where are you seeing these? I saw a PSA 9 the other day go for $47k, and the last 4 PSA 8’s have gone in the $14k range for 3 of them and 1 just went in the $11k range today.

The $11k sale was ended early by the seller.

The one that ended at $11,800 was actually a PSA 7. There haven't been any 8s end under $14k aside from the one the seller ended early.

I just noticed that. I went back to check again, and saw that it was a PSA 7.

I don’t think it was a 7 - are you sure about the grade.

Did you look at the auction? Here is what it states for that "sale" -

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold."

The seller ended the auction early.

Yes I did - checked VCP and 130 point and did not see a message it ended early on either one. Checked eBay sold auctions as well. Thank you for letting me know. Saw it had less than 12 hours to go and a bidder with 0 feedback had the highest bid on the card at the time.

Here is the link to the (over-graded?) PSA 7 that sold for $11,800 tonight.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Fleer-...rdt=true&rt=nc

*PWCC also had a PSA 7 (should have been an OC qualifier) end tonight for $11,000 buy it now.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Fleer-...p2047675.l2557

if they are legit sales, you could got 7s in the $8k range during the week and they bump to $11k today. 8s have been holding steady at $14-16k. I thought 7s were great value, no way they should have been half price of the 8s.

You are correct and I totally agree with you about the huge price gap between the 7's & 8's.
