ugh, losing Strop could be a real problem, especially with Rondon ailing too. Hopefully Grimm is still in form.

That Topps Now card from today compared these Cubs to the 1945 team

These guys aren't too far off

through 112 games

1945: 73-39
2016: 71-41

Finished (154 Games)

1945: 98-56
2016: They're on pace to finish with at least 92 wins through 154 games

Torn meniscus for Strop (this was my guess), no ligament damage apparently. Hopefully he will be back in mid-September and get tuned up provided everything goes to plan. Unlucky injury but it could have been worse.

Sucks to lose Stropy for a while. Hope CJ can take on and dominate in a larger role now. He's been good so far.

Time to take control of this game. Cards are making mistakes left & right.

Too bad he didn't get the walk off. Would have been beautiful.

Walk off walk!

Rizzo did it with the C missing off of his helmet, looked like a Panini card.

Ron Kulpa ladies and gentlemen. Worst home plate umpire in the history of the game ...

Some of those pitches were called wrong

But a win is a win, many fans would agree

10 game streak

13 game lead.

Just heard he fractured his thumb.

You made a fool of yourself. Go away. Again, hope he recovers well.

You're a real Einstein. Fractured thumb, probable DL stint

But yeah, he flopped

I'd rest Riz and Bryant now for the series. Wouldn't surprise me to see one of them take one on the wrist now.
