You should buy that ASAP if it's FOTL

I was getting almost $300 returns on the four FOTL boxes I opened. Having a hard time hitting $50 returns on normal hobby boxes.

$6K when supply of sealed cases dry up? Yes...
I think $5k will be a steady hold. I could see a little drop when NT/Flawless come out just because people love the new thing. I believe case prices will also depend on 1. Where do hobby boxes settle? This is important as the FOTL is loaded, but then the consumer needs to think about trade-offs for the price of regular vs. FOTL. 2. How readily will retail be available & whats it look like from an odds stand point. This is important as retail is always a much cheaper substitute. I can bust a lot of rack packs to silver hunt vs a regular and a crap ton vs. FOTL. How many will the normal consumer be able to get their hands on? But then again normal consumers aren't purchasing $5k cases.

Ultimately, to see $6k we will need a star or two to emerge from the rookie crop. Personally, I am not sure I see a Giannis, Simmons, or Embiid type guy in this class. I do think its a very deep class. However, if someone emerges to have similar hype of the 3 guys above I could see a $6k price tag for a little. I mean look how cheap 13-14 wax was pre Giannis & even 16-17. It only takes one guy for things to sky rocket.

The sequence of odds in a hobby case vs. a few loose boxes is also something to consider. Unless you're doing a group break or holding long term. I ultimately have no idea besides a huge 1/1 what you can pull and be close to recouping 70% of your money. Especially, when prices start to settle after the initial wave.

That's true. I didn't do as well as you or others but I still did well and got returns at the $120/box purchase level. However, I probably would've broke even or maybe even been negative at the $300/box level. And I busted 9 boxes. I had a few boxes that killed it and some that were so-so.

If I were buying sealed FOTL Prizm at $350-400 and trying to make money, then it would strictly be to hold/sell as sealed (based on my own experience). Despite a lot of boxes being loaded, some were just mediocre. To me, right now, it's not worth the gamble at that price point (if it were pre-sell and I had an opportunity to receive/bust/list before the regular hobby version released, I might gamble then).

Panini still hasn't refunded my money from the non-order. Will give them another day, then it's phone call #3 + going to talk to my bank. It's a little ridiculous at this point.

Yeah I had one box pay for both, but the other didn't even pay for itself even at $120 buy-in, so if I were buying now it would be a long hold

Yeah, I sent three emails over the last two weeks and left two voice mails and never heard anything back about the charges from them. I was initially asking if they could fulfill my order since they charged me, but after never hearing back I just started asking to be refunded, yet nothing.. Then over the weekend I received a refund confirmation email. I'm still not showing a refund through my bank but those can also take a couple days to process. I'm giving it until the middle of the week and then filing a charge back.

I wasted tons of time just trying to place an order, and then on top of that i've now wasted even more time trying to get refunded for something I was charged for that i'm obviously not getting.. it's a bit frustrating to say the least..

I didn't want to create a new thread with all the threads on prizm. Did anyone do the math and figure out roughly how many RC silver prizms there are (per player)? Assuming the vet silvers are in greater quantity.

The reason I ask this is only because I never witnessed breaks before where the focus was not on the autographs.

Wonder how many sealed cases made it out. I'm guessing less than 50

Well, my informal count here yielded 7 cases confirmed.

So I say less then 25. It cannot be more than that with the website issues and people ordering “whatever they can get” so 1, 2, 3 boxes per order.

Not a lot out there for sure.

I can confirm via the fulfillment manager that 1,000 boxes were sold and shipped as of today and 600 are allocated for those whose orders were canceled. I had about a 20 minute conversation with her today. She said they are still honoring everyone that had a canceled order but their systems are still suffering from glitches.

I now have an order confirmation for 2 boxes, both of which had been previously canceled. I'm very, very happy right now

Kind of amazing that 37.5% of the total volume was assigned to orders that the system canceled. Someone should bring a tape recorder down to Panini America in Irving and do an "Oral History of 2017 Prizm FOTL". I'd be curious to hear how it all went down.

I'd love to read that!
I'm looking for 1 box of FOTL myself if anyone wants to cash in

Did you have to contact them to get your order back or did it just happen on its own?

Call 1-817-662-5052 and give them the cancel order numbers. You'll also need your credit card info.

I am assuming PSA is probably the best route to go for grading?

I think so. I had 10 cards on a 10 day order arrive at PSA today. Hopefully they log quickly and start the clock.

I just opened my first box of FOTL i purchased on ebay.

Pulled a Monk silver, Fultz and Dennis Smith Jr base. No one special for shimmers.
I was hoping for a Tatum silver but no luck

I did end up with a decent hit on one of my autos though
