He's certainly cooled down since 2021 in the post-season, but I think most people are missing the point. . . He gets to the post-season. If he wins 1 more ring in the next 5+ years that's an epic career by any standard. His stats for the 2020 postseason that resulted in their last WS win.

Mookie's stats - .296 Batting average with 21 hits, 2 HRs, 8 RBI's, 15 runs scored in 18 games.

Believe his overall postseason breakdown is .251 with 58 hits, 4 homers, 18 RBI's and 40 runs. Now lets compare him to the new power team of the NL ATL Braves.

Ronald Acuna Jr. post season stats in his career so far.

.257 with 28 hits, 3 homers, 9 RBIs, and 17 runs scored in 29 games.

He has from 2024-2032 with the Dodgers, that's 8 more seasons until his age 40 season.

Could easily get to 400+ home runs, 2000+ hits, .290+ career BA, 80+ WAR.

Players that have started since 2000 that are higher in WAR currently.

Albert Pujols - Retired
Trout - semi-prime due to injuries
Verlander - Almost end of career
Kershaw - Almost end of career
Greinke - Almost end of Career
Mad Max - Almost end of Career
Mookie - in his prime

He has had 2 good post season series, 2 AWOL post season series and a bunch of bad ones. He is Clayton Kershaw as a position player. You can count on him until the stakes becomes enormous. A Negative .30 for his WPA is indicative of his post season performance. He is no where near Pujols or Cabrera who both hobbled in many series to provide what Betts has been unable to.

Don’t get me wrong, Mookie is going to compete for multiple MVP’s in the regular season. That is where is ends.

You throw that WPA stat around like it's the end of a conversation, but it's not.

He also had a number of exceptional defensive plays in the 2020 run. The shoestring catch DP and robbed at least a couple up against the wall.

End up being the second or third best player since the turn of the century and end up with two (potentially more world series rings)

I'll take that any day for present and future value/collectability.

And he's not even 32.

Vids in my post above!

Edit to add this as well, also from the 2018 ALCS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOtK9lZe_DE

This season he’s already gotten 1000th run, 350th double, 1500th hit.

You don't think he can keep up a 300 hit / 100 hr pace?

I would be very happy with a .290 AVG. 40 HR 115 RBI season

I am very happy with the way he has started out this year. In the last few years he didn't start hitting until May and this year he has started out his best ever. I am hoping a repeat of his 2018 Season with over a 10 War. I finally picked up a nice Dodgers Uniform card last night, probably a case of FOMO. Can't wait until the authenticator gets it to me and I can show it off. It's been on my list since 2020.

Apparently he's the best defensive SS in baseball right now. GG at SS this year and MVP would be great to silence the critics. I think he's definitely motivated this year after losing the MVP last season

This sounds amazing.

Note, I'd also be fine with a top 10 in MVP voting, no GG and just a steady 25-95 .300/.400/.500 with a boatload of runs.

Keep those card prices low for another year until I can pick up a few more gems.

Eff the critics, I just love watching the guy play, so just stay healthy!
