My vote is with the BC. The hitting/pitching thing is considerably more powerful than anyone expected and the Bowman Chrome hitting rookie is already worth 10x the S2 raw. It's got the same pic as one of the BC autos and it's only competition for hitting is Finest and Update RD and I'm of the opinion that the RD will fade long term vs the rest. This is a new shift in opinion for me but it's impossible to ignore how much the BC has run up

It happens all too frequently. Hitting a baseball is one of the most difficult things to do in professional sports. Not to mention the fickle nature of a hitters mental approach. It doesn’t take much at all to knock a hitter out of a groove. But... you already know that because you know all of the things and the stuffs.

Bowman chrome is running up fast!!! I need to keep track of the finest as well. He also had a silver pack refractor rc of him hitting.
He has 2 batting finest.

I have both finest and a BC at CSG

I really like BC and Finest but I don’t see much point in trying to project the favorite at this point. Will Ohtani’s bat stay hot and become what he is known for? Will he develop as a consistently dominant pitcher? Will he continue as a two way player or not? Nobody knows and it has the potential to make a big difference because he has so many RC options. Collectors are not necessarily boxed into sticking with the first flagship RC like they are with a lot of other players.

I still see him as a pitcher and think he is only going to improve as one going forward. But, some of the hitting cards are more aesthetically pleasing.

I've got the 1983 /25 Red Auto of his batting.

I very specifically bought it 3 years ago because I thought long-term the batting image would win out both because of his performance hitting and its scarcity relative to pitching images.

I really wish I had read someone making an argument for the hitting image potentially making a big leap when I was doing the bulk of my Ohtani buying. Unfortunately almost no one cared to talk about Ohtani back then. I would've never touched the Update RD but I would've loaded up on the BC.
