Haws are playing without Reddish and Hunter. Reddish is meh, but Hunter is a solid contributor. If Hawks fans are serious about being a championship competitor, they'll have to figure out a way to hide Trae on D. If Capela can be a real rim protector that's a start, but they're gonna need some big time perimeter defense.

Trae can be a 1B superstar, but in today's NBA he needs a 1A and they don't have it on their roster now...whole bunch of great pieces, but not the right mix for 'ship right now.

Pretty sure he's saying things that have been said about Trae..not things, or points he necessarily believes.

Love the avatar - just watched that episode last week.

I think Trae can be 1A if he has a couple 1Bs, if that makes sense. Trae has proven to be a great floor general but also can put up buckets whenever needed. He also shines brightest with the spotlight on him (MSG, vs 1 seed). Those are all components of a 1A player. He's not great on defense but it's rare that a team will field 5 solid offensive players so there's always going to be an opportunity for him to not get burned consistently on defense. If they have two 1B two-way players (Hunter looks like he could become one), that will make "hiding" Trae on defense much easier. I'm thinking like how Curry was 1A and Klay/Draymond were 1Bs.

I hope we get a BKN v ATL ECF. I'd like to see Trae vs KD/Harden/Irving because on paper, the Hawks should get destroyed - but maybe Trae becomes the GOAT.

Just my opinion, but there really hasn't been a team without at least 2 uberstars since the 2004 Pistons to win a championship. "Trae needs to have someone on his team that is better than he is so he can... win a championship.

Pistons had four All Stars

I think "uber star" is something else.

Fair to say, from a card pricing perspective, Trae the only young star of today's game who doesn't have "future MVP and titles" priced in? Even still, what percentage of fans think ATL can win a title with him as the #1 guy? Me.. and a about six people here? That's it.

Not sure about being the #1 guy, but the media sure has updated its narrative with Trae during these playoffs from star to superstar.

Absolutely, with the right pieces around him. Reason being is that he is the PG and a fantastic facilitator and can get open looks for his teammates against anyone. He is just 22. He will get better shooting, smarter passing, learn to trust his teammates more. If an when they win the championship, it wont be because he had 35 points a game, it will be because he had 13 to 15 assists per game and probably less than 20 points. He may not even be the highest scorer on the team, but he will probably be the biggest star on the team.

This is traes team and he did very well in the fourth quarter, all those haters coming out just cause he didn’t put up 50 again. I would rather have Trae than China doll Joel any day

Trae Young always gets what he wants offensively - sure he's sometimes inefficient, but the way the Hawks just blitzed the best defense in the NBA is something. Every possession seems like they got a good look. I'm picking them to get to the Finals & from there, 50/50 shot to win it all. Just a really well constructed team/unit - That Capela/Collins/Gallanari frontcourt fits amazingly well.

Your right about this team. Trae gets a lot of attention but the real MVP is the front office for building a team with loads of players that can score. You dont get many NBA teams that make it this far that are true teams and not just dominated by a superstar or 2. Now we have 2 teams like that in the Suns and Hawks. 2 really well built teams. Nice to see that a complete team can still make a deep run.

Suns v. Hawks.

If the Suns have Paul it'll be Suns in 6.

What is it going to take for Trae's cards to go up in value? Will a ring this year do it? Maybe back to back? Maybe a 3-peat??

Just wondering what Blow Nation thinks it will take for Trae to "to the moon"????

The Mavs won with only 1 superstar.

Not sure what "up in value" means exactly, but his stuff getting hit pretty hard on the bay since last night's game ended.

The PERS/BBIQ ilk been hating him for quite some time, but not actually watching him play. He was about as bad as he can be last night and is still a terrific watch. I think now two things happen. More eyes with just four teams left. Next year a lot more National exposure. Hopefully at the expense of watching the Heat once a week.

Good times ahead.

Kidd was not a superstar? Not at that time at 37, sure.

But Marion, Peja, Terry, and so many others. That team was deep, and I think that is your point. Hawks and Suns will be more remembered like the Dallas and Detroit teams than others. The difference is these are young teams and the story may change.

Who says Trae cannot play defense? Did you see how fast Ben passed that ball with Trae coming toward him? Lol…..

Someone winning a first ring this year will get a spike

To the moon? Multiple championships or star in Space Jam 3
