Rite I guess demand has nothing to do with this. When panini sells out boxes for plus 1000 dollars that where going for 100.00 is this manipulation? No one is pumping the price, the manufacture is saying here is the price and it continues to sell out. So first the demand out ways the supply. I and I’m sure 1000 others on blow out have no issue with current price if you are vested pre covid or even pre nov of last year. I love updating my excel spreadsheet sheet with constant green arrows and numbers... cheers and let the bitterness continue...

Obviously you do not understand what Market Manipulation truly is. Market Manipulation goes into EVERY BUSINESS PRACTICE.....Such as Licensing and limiting the amount of inventory available to maximize profits. Pumping is just one issue going on, limiting supply is another altogether, as well as the sneakerheads buying all the product and sitting on it squeezing the price up and creating a shortage of supply in the market... Even PSA and BGS are creating issues by slowing dripping out graded cards in order to keep the prices high so people continue to submit cards to them at a higher price... These are all forms of Market Manipulation....You do not have to have a degree in business to understand that this is going on you just have to have two eyes and a functional brain.

can't even respond....you are 100% rite total market manipulation going on with over 100 thousand cards being sold every week...even all the auctions houses that sell million dollar cards are all manipulated ,none of it is actually being paid for. it is all an elusion, one big reality show that will soon come to an end season 5...this explains it all...I guess I'm in a bubble...

Still dont know how people arent seeing this. If psa worked faster in getting cards out the door they end up losing future submissions. I mean the pop numbers on everything from zion base to tatis topps series 2 rookies to kobe rookies is going to shoot up as soon as they get these out.

I disagree with your statment of none of the big auctions are going to get paid for though. I do think there are certianly some private auctions that dont get paid for but many do even if the person apying is overpaying in order to help push or manipualte the market. I mean if you own multiple of a high dollar card why not overpay for one more to push the market for the rest. I mean if i had ten jordan 1986 fleer psa 10s in my safe then i would go out and oush the price of the next one as high as i could even if i ended up purchasing it myself. Even though a sale like that isnt illegal or immoral in the sense that they shill bid or anything its still market mainpulation for sure.

From what I gather this is how it breaks down:

1. No MJ cards- Market is manipulated

2. Some MJ cards- The market is manipulated no matter what market.

3. Lots of MJ cards- No market manipulation! Muahahahaha!!!!

A few sales at those new highs send the card higher and higher.

But the flood of psa 8s hitting the market was inevitable, and it was obvious that a ton would be on their way to PWCC. The problem is the momentum can be hard to stop because as kefskala eluded to, a lot of people are into this card much much lower. Some may have at first thought - I’m going to hold and see how high it goes and now are thinking I might as well cash in while it’s still relatively high.

SGC 9.5 only brought 55k. Seems like a bad sale.

If it was worth more wouldn't it be in a PSA holder?

I've noticed a dip in a lot of Jordan Rookies.

What does that first part mean??

SGC grades just as if not more tightly than PSA IMO. Someone got a good deal on that card.

Agree to disagree. If it didn't get an SGC 10, it's almost definitely not getting a PSA 10. So if it's a PSA 9, that's really not that great of a deal...(especially considering there is one on ebay right now at 43k obo)

Very well said. Another example I could think of is Rolex, which keep very short supply for its sports models.

Anyone think this is legit? Is a PSA 8 going for that little?

My assumption would be it’s not legit. It’s a PWCC pic from an account user with 0 feedback in Sweden.

Is this worth driving almost two hours to go look at? Seller claims he pulled it from a pack back in the day:

People forgetting it’s cardboard. There’s not many in hobby that isn’t new that didn’t get this card like 10 20 years ago. They are counting on new suckers I mean new people in the hobby with tons of cash. You all better cash out now before economy is fully open and people will spend less on cards and enjoy vacation, trips, concerts, and front seats at sporting events. I hate to be in backlog of psa now cause time you get the market will get crush. I’m speculating by end of June

How much is he asking?

Looks like it would grade a PSA 10 whatever it is.

Heritage Auction #57 closed at $480K w/BP. The two at Goldin, both also at $400K before BP, are in some kind of extended bidding (because the site crashed again in clutch time I assume?).
