Per Jayson Stark of the Athletic—despite his struggles at the plate, Ohtani joins Barry Bonds and Miguel Cabrera as the only hitters in at least five post season games to have more intentional walks than hits.

The 2018 Bowman Sterling insert and 2018 Gold label class 1 (and to a lesser extent class 3) should be more popular/valuable in my opinion due to having both a hitting and pitching image. We shall see if the market agrees with me one day in the future.

There is no doubt in my mind that this card with both a hitting and pitching pose and the overall aesthetics should sell for way more than many of his other 2018 RC cards /150 (including his bowman chrome #1), despite the lack of pedigree. It is a gorgeous card that is greatly under appreciated.

I mean if the hobby can go crazy over his 2020 stadium club chrome horizontal card #145, than you would think the hobby should be able to pick up on this card too!

Lack of pedigree? It's from Bowman Chrome (same set as BCRASO, #1 chrome) and the same batting image as BC #1. It is an insert, but it's such a damn good looking card.

The confusing insert naming is what suppresses the pricing. People think it is it's own set from Bowman Chrome Sterling, which does not exist in 2018.

I knew it was from the same set as 2018 bowman chrome #1 (just an insert), but did not even realize until you pointed it out that it is the same batting image too!

I am glad you agree that this is a fantastic card (especially the auto and /150)! I totally think collectors are sleeping on this card right now and it should sell for a premium compared to most others of similar print runs.

All the Sterling talk reminded me, someone posted the super non-auto in a random BST thread on twitter years ago, I had it saved in my likes. Obv not my card, no idea who owns it now or if that guy sold.

Love the Sterling. Great design that year.

Hoping Ohtani closes it out tonight. Certainly has been a lackluster playoffs thus far. Top half of the lineup has been downright awful. Bottom half has saved the day.

Raw sells for ~$450 to $500

Bowman Sterling insert (BS-SO)
PSA total population: 1,600
Raw sells for ~$150


At this point I think the hobby has it wrong on these two cards.
