No tricks, huh?

I know the video is sped up, but at the 1:35, 1:36 & 1:37 marks you can tell that there is still quite a bit of detail left to go, then at 1:40 he stands up and voila:

But remember, in the world of magic, magic is illusion, and illusion...

REALITY!

(thankyew, thankyew...)

At this point, unless the actual art here is performance art, he should stop.
If it IS performance art, which I enjoy, more videos please!

I think it'd be neat if Bob were to take an already finished, tightly penciled card (presumably drawn by someone else), and using an eraser fashioned to look like a pencil, gradually erased it until the card was blank, and then ran the video in reverse.
As further proof.
Koff...

Why can't he just do a simple live video with the camera in close proximity to the card from start to finish, with no talking, no music, no graphics, no sleight of hand, no switcharoos, no blocking the camera with his body, no editing tricks.

Just do a LIVE video on YouTube or Facebook., showing nothing but the card and his hands drawing it (and not using hands to cover up the card).
JUST DRAW ON A FLAT SURFACE WITH THE CAMERA ABOVE THE PAPER.
That would definitively prove what he's trying to prove.

I'm betting it won't ever happen. The guy can't draw as good as he wants so he cheats to validate himself as a creative professional.

He also has to realize that the more he does these obvious fake videos, the more likely he'll be confronted in person at one of these shows he does, to actually draw, start to finish a card, while doing a live feed of him, and it won't be just one person coming up to him.

My guess is that if he does show up at any show again he'll have a cast on his arm or some other non-sense, claiming he fell and hurt it, so he can't draw anything.

Because it would just be a stick figure or something.

I mean just look at the amount of shaded ground under Boba in the top 3 compared to the bottom image. It's embarrassing.

The only thing that makes me a hater of Bob is his sweet hair, he must use Mane & Tail horse shampoo to keep that hair so glorious.

Even if this guy can draw i will never believe it.

He must be bad at editing these video's! Look when he sits down the card is already drawn and he places it in his hand.

Forgive me if this was already covered in this thread (I don't have time to read through everything) but wouldn't you be able to use a magnifying glass to see dots if it was printed and randomness if it wasn't? Has printer technology already improved past that? Is he coloring over everything?

Man, I remember when printers were sold based on DPI. (Dots Per Inch)

I think he scribbles on it a bit. Plus most people aren't whipping out magnifiers to inspect their cards. But yes, I think he adds to it enough to obscure most it. Or adds a glossy finish or something.

I forgot that black laser printing isn't dots but if it's trying to shade two of the three primary colors together, it can only use dot density.

I'm not aware of a way that printers make shades, hues, etc without using dots unless that shade is straight out of the drum.

So if anyone has a sketch, observe the color parts for dots that can't be made by a human hand.

This guy just really can't help himself...

Self-starting and self-finishing sketch AND self-cleaning tape. Who knew?

And once again, text obscuring the sketch and his hands and sped up for no damn reason (well, other than to try and pull off the slight of hand...).

That is the first thing that I noticed was he gets up and blocks the sketch and then the tape is moved. Looks like he switches them out. Just like the leia one where he puts his hand out of view and you can see him moving the other card into his hand and then back into view for more sketching.

Shouldn't there be a big tape shape white spot on the top and bottom of this sketch?

Exactly - the paint somehow miraculously went through the tape...
Another thing: Does the one he's coloring on or the one we see after he stands up even say "Artist Proof" on them? It doesn't look like it.

At the 20 sec mark there is green paint on the top tape. That paint disappears when he is done

I gotta say, the most unbelievable thing is that he says it takes 20 minutes. The amount of tiny detail in photorealism is incredible and at that small of scale. I'd like to find anyone that could do it in that short of time. If they only took 20 minutes they wouldn't be to cost so much. Almost all of the non photorealism artists spend more than 20 minutes on a card, usually hours. The way he does it, it probably does take 20 minutes, but yea... also, love the end. 'No tricks, no bull****'. Lol. I saw the card pop up on ebay saying to watch the video. I think someone should contact leaf. He shouldnot be allowed to sell those APs if he did breech his contract and whatnot.

Has everyone seen his newest video? He finally posted a full drawing video and the result is... decidedly less photo realistic than usual! I guess that answers the question of what his true skill level is haha
