I hate a lot about fanatics

But they are brilliant at the golden ticket chase

Mix in gambling and dumb a$$es and you have 2025 hobby

Highest bids on a 5-case break that ended on eBay tonight. 84 total autos in this break meaning that half the players have no chance to hit one and with doubles of some of the releivers, it will likely be closer to 2/3 that don’t hit. I understand that gambling addiction is real but there are much safer bets out there right?

How many low numbered Jacob Wilson's would you need to make that $1000 back?

Ripped my jumbo case and as expected, it largely underwhelmed, with 1 exception. Hit a Cam Smith Black Refractor Auto /10 Redemption.

Most autos were obscure rookies and color was very limited (only 9 numbered non-auto cards in 8 jumbo boxes and nothing of particular significance). 2 SPs were Yordan &. Seager.

Other autos of note were Junior Caminero Future Stars auto /99, Matt Shaw /299, Kumar Rocker /499, Jace Jung base, Thomas Saggese base

Yet people are still falling over themselves to buy boxes at these prices despite everyone KNOWING how bad a value they are.

It's not exactly a secret anymore that wax is a ripoff!

I'd have to say that probably half have no idea what they're opening and are clueless about the hobby. Too many new blood think $250 chrome boxes are the norm and has always been that way.

The ever increasing amount bid and spent amazes and baffles me. Do so many actually have that much who cares money? Do they really not understand the terrible return? Easy to see even big breakers doing smaller breaks at release than past due to the gouging price.

We were told it was the team collectors who were driving up the prices.

Went into Lids tonight hoping to see a "reasonable" hobby price, perhaps around the Topps release price of $240. Nope. $300!!! LOL. Worker there called it a Lids "markup". Love ripping wax and understand all the stupidity of it but $300 at a store that sells hats? Hilarious and sad. Went over to Gamestop and picked up a blaster for $38 using the member price. I'm sure that "discount" will get taken away at some point, too.

So.. was your blaster full of #@#@#@#@ like the rest of the people using the internet to tell everyone about it? Or can you tell us what’s in it without crying about the fact you didn’t buy on Topps or during the pre-release?

How could you not expect a chain like Lids (of all places) who are selling cards to try and cover their OPEX, not have a stupid markup on it?

A few things:

- Blaster was decent, for a blaster (Merrill refractor, numbered aqua).
- Actually bought 3 hobby boxes during the pre-release. Was hoping for one more at Lids.
- And Lids used to sell hobbies at release and/or pre-release prices, with no "markup".

Lots of assumptions in your post.

Don't sweat it there are people on this forum that will defend Fanatics to their last breath. It's dumb that presale prices where they offer up a tiny fraction shouldn't be the release price. 10x the hobby though
